Tea with a difference! Starbucks unveils a modern tea experience with signature innovations

Various regions in India boast of world famous teas, the most popular being Darjeeling tea. Darjeeling is a hill station and the tea grown here is known as the champagne of tea because of it’s unique Muscatel flavour (wine made from Muscat grapes).

Assam tea, produced in the North of India is admired all over the world and served at breakfast tables in luxury hotels, has a full bodied taste, while Nilgiri tea grown in the South of India has its own intensely aromatic taste. Tea is estimated to be the world’s second most consumed drink after water.

While tea production was non-existent till late 17th century in India, it was the British who concentrated on making it an industry. Today India stands amongst the best in the world in tea production.

Bringing exotic tea to the classes

Inspired by the rich Indian tea legacy, Starbucks Teavana in collaboration with Tata Global Beverages created a signature innovation in India. Tea drinkers can now enjoy the flavour of teas and more with new innovative iced and hot tea beverages.

A few days ago, Tata Starbucks Pvt. Ltd. announced the introduction of Starbucks Teavana beverages as a core offering across its 88 outlets in India. The launch of Starbucks Teavana brings for the very first time an entirely modern and re-imagined tea experience for Indian customers, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a range of 18 distinct tea offerings including an Indian signature tea, iced teas, brewed hot teas and tea lattes with bold, layered flavours handcrafted in the way only Starbucks can.

An invigorating blend of full leaf Assam black tea with rich spice infusion of whole cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, pepper, star anise and ginger, India Spice Majesty Blend is refreshing. In addition to the signature innovation, customers can indulge in Youthberry white tea, Hibiscus Herbal Infusion as well as the limited time handcrafted offerings from Starbucks – Matcha & Espresso Fusion, Black Tea with Ruby Grapefruit and Honey and Iced Shaken Hibiscus with Pomegranate Pearls.
