By Bradley Wicks   |

When you live a life of luxury, there’s fun around every corner. And one thing you should definitely be looking to tick off from your luxury bucket list is the rush of an auction house filled with magnificent items. They could all be yours too, for the right price.

Launched in 2014, the Luxury Assets division of John Pye Auctions specialises in the sale of opulent desirables: modern and antique jewellery and watches, precious and semi-precious gemstones, luxury accessories, prestigious vehicles, modern and contemporary art, and even fine wines and spirits. Its showrooms in Marchington, Staffordshire and London’s Old Bond Street sell over 1800 exquisite items each month through online timed auctions.

These bespoke showrooms also open their doors to the financial elite for boutique viewings. In particular, the showroom on Old Bond Street – situated in London’s luxury capital of Mayfair – showcases only the finest lots on offer.

Since its inception, John Pye Luxury Auctions and its Old Bond Street showroom has hosted some of the UK’s most prestigious collections, including four Virgin Marussia Formula One grid cars and one of Europe’s largest private collections of gemstones: The David Jerome Collection, which comprised of over 680 pieces of unique and precious gemstone jewellery.

While Old Bond Street offers rarities that many people can only dream of, Marchington and Staffordshire regularly host lists of desirables including luxury watches from some of the finest watch makers the world has ever seen – think Rolex, Cartier, Omega and Breitling – designer jewellery by the likes of Bulgari, Tiffany & Co., Chopard and Theo Fennell, and even designer accessories by brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Alexander McQueen, and Prada.

Recent auction successes include the sale of a truly stunning engagement ring that comprised of a 4.65ct emerald-cut diamond, flanked by beautiful trapezoid-cut diamonds. An Anchorcert grading of colour F and clarity VS supported the central stone of this eccentric piece, which rather unsurprisingly reached an outstanding hammer price of £58,900. Other recent named sales across the Luxury Assets department include a boxed Hermès Tiny Berkin Bag (£3162); a 0.72ct GIA certified Natural Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond (£3224); and an 18ct gold gentleman’s Day-Date Rolex watch (£4588). In short, the triad of showrooms and their objects cater to the needs of the luxury elite on a day-to-day basis.
