BMW iX

From unlocking and starting your car with an iPhone to slick interiors to rapid charging, the electric vehicles that BMW are now producing compared to their original 2013 i3 city car version has indeed come a long way. The BMW iX offers three versions, consisting of the sporty M60 model and the xDrive40 and xDrive 50, all of which boast impressive technology, distinctive design and generous cabin space.

The iX is an SUV and offers a 380-mile range on full charge and comes with a Flexible Fast Charger, which can be fully charged in under 12 hours with a 240V outlet.

As well as having the option of hitting high speeds with 0 – 60mph in 4.6 seconds and offering a sleek design with Scandinavian-inspired interiors, the BMW iX offers a Sport version (excluding the already sporty M60 model) which comes with 21-inch alloy wheels and BMW’s Operating System 8 with a curved display screen at your fingertips.

Expect to pay between £70,000 and £112,000 depending on which model you opt for.

Jaguar I Pace

Jaguar’s first electric vehicle, launched in 2018, the I-Pace is an SUV with a difference. It’s sleek, low style with a sporty appearance and agile nature make it a very enjoyable car to drive and the car can go from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 seconds, hitting speeds of up to 124mph. With a supposed range of 292 miles from its 90kWh battery in addition to having all-wheel drive, you can use up some of those miles off road, too.

Inside, the car is just as slick as the outer, with leather sports seats and gloss black trim finishers, while its top tech includes a 12.3-inch colour driver’s display, Pivi Pro infotainment screen and a Meridian audio system.

Audi e-tron

All electric models from Audi carry the e-tron name with the original five-door SUV making way for a sleeker Sportback version. Expect to find LED lighting, electric and heated seats, digital screens, dual zone climate control as well as additional extras like the premium Bang and Olufsen sound system among many other useful and luxurious features.

Practical vehicles and luxury vehicles aren’t often one in the same, but Audi has managed to achieve this with its Q4 e-tron, meaning that those who love a top-notch ride can do so with multiple family members and small children in tow as well.

The Q4 model can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 6.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 111mph, not quite as impressive as the previous choices, but its other features more than likely make up for this. When out and about, you can expect the car to last for 280 miles before its 82kWh battery needs to be recharged.

In addition to this 2022 model, Audi is introducing an electric SUV, sedan, and a Sportback version, so you’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to choosing the right car for your needs.
