Dubai is a city that we’ve all heard plenty about in recent years due to its growing popularity as a lavish resort to head to when you need some sun, sand, opulence and experiences to treasure. Delving further into what makes Dubai a must-visit destination, and it’s the range of places to see and things to do across the city that make it so appealing. One minute you can be snapping photos of the aforementioned fountain and Burj Khalifa at Dubai’s Downtown District, sightseeing at Dubai Marina the next, or heading south to The Empty Quarter to partake in some exciting activities in the desert such as a hot air balloon ride, a 4×4 ride around the sand dunes or even letting loose on a quad bike.

With your car safely in tow, the next question is how to spend your days in this wondrous city, full of upscale restaurants, extravagant hotels, cultural highlights and so very much more? First of all, make sure that you’ve booked yourself into one of the luxurious hotels that compete to be the best in the city. Top choices include the resplendent Burj Al Arab, which sits out to sea and resembles a sail, the aforementioned Atlantis, The Palm, the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, Palazzo Versace Dubai at Jaddaf Waterfront, and Jumeirah Zabeel Saray.

Once you’ve enjoyed an early breakfast to set you up for the day, head off for a morning balloon ride to see the sunrise over the desert. Head back to the city centre to take in the highlights as mentioned above – the fountains and Burj Khalifa really are a must-see – before popping along to the souks and stopping to refuel for lunch.
