Royal Salute Whisky launches new limited edition gift boxes

Royal Salute Whisky has unveiled two limited edition gift sets to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival in September.

The new ‘Art of Blending’ gift sets are the first in Royal Salute’s annual series of limited edition boxes inspired by royal British traditions, drawing parallels between the skill, craftsmanship, and ritual involved in blending Scotch whisky and a favourite royal pastime; tea.

The two bespoke sets depict Eastern and Western traditions, both featuring the signature Royal Salute 21-year-old expression encased within an exclusively-designed giftbox, which have been created in partnership with esteemed British artist Martin O’Neill. The design pays tribute to ancient tea rituals, alongside vibrant images of famous landmarks and other cultural icons.

The Royal Salute 21 Year Old ‘Art of Blending’ Limited Edition Gift Packs (RRP of USD $130) are available to purchase internationally across Duty Free and in selected specialist stores for a limited amount of time

Royal Salute’s 21 Year Old is the brand’s signature expression, originally created as a celebratory gift to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

The limited edition gift pack has been created to celebrate next month’s Mid-Autumn Festival, which is the second grandest festival in China after Chinese New Year. Commonly known as the Moon Festival, as the moon is at its roundest and brightest, this centuries-old tradition is commemorated by Chinese and Vietnamese communities by lighting lanterns and sharing food; symbolising togetherness and reunion.

“We love the synergies between the craft of blending tea and that of blending Scotch whisky – both works of art and beloved by royalty as time-honoured ways to toast momentous occasions with family and friends – in both Eastern and Western cultures,” Mathieu Deslandes, Marketing Director at Royal Salute, told Luxury Lifestyle Magazine.

“Our ‘Art of Blending’ series brings these similarities to life in spectacular colour and intricate detail that not only pays homage to the knowledge, skill and true artistry of blending, but celebrates the many ways tea, like Scotch whisky, is enjoyed around the world.”
