Scott Paton named new Head Chef at Boringdon Hall
Award-winning Devon chef Scott Paton has now been appointed as the new Head Chef at Boringdon Hall in Plymouth, Devon.
Having started his career at The Jack in the Green, and having recently been awarded Three AA Rosettes, Scott is looking to bring Boringdon Hall’s fine dining restaurant The Gallery, to Three AA Rosette standard and beyond.
Excited by what Boringdon Hall has to offer, not only with The Gallery Restaurant but also with the impending launch of the Gaia Spa Spatisserie and future expansion plans for a second restaurant at Boringdon Hall, Scott has vision and anticipates working on several new projects at once, whilst offering visually stunning and technically well executed food.
He said: “As a chef I am lead by a project and the chance to take a restaurant to the next level. I want food to be colourful, vibrant and to stand out. When I put a plate of food in front of someone I want it to make them smile and to create memories. I want guests to see a dish and immediately think that food will taste good before they taste it. The first impact is visual but, food can’t just look pretty, it must be technically well executed, if it’s not it can’t go on the plate.”
Scott added: “My food isn’t theatre – my food looks good and tastes even better. I don’t want guests remembering smokey nitrogen I want them to remember the visual impact of the dish, savour the taste, and the lasting experience.”
Operations Director at Boringdon Hall, Laura Cameron, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Scott Paton to Boringdon Hall. What he brings to the table is exciting, fresh and above all, exceptionally good food.”
Scott’s menus are available now at The Gallery Restaurant at Boringdon Hall.
