The Dorchester celebrates 90 years of luxury with new cocktail The 90th

By Ina Yulo Stuve   |

When a London legend turns 90, who do you ask to help with the celebrations? Why, another London legend of course! For the iconic five-star luxury hotel The Dorchester’s 90th birthday this year, master mixologist and bar manager Giuliano Morandin concocted a new cocktail, The 90th, with ingredients that evoke the spirit of the 1930s.

Taking guests back to when the hotel first opened its doors, the cocktail is perfect for summertime with plum and grapefruit notes backed by Late Bottled Vintage Port, the rare Forbidden Fruit liqueur, and The Dorchester’s own Old Tom Gin. When asked how he would describe the cocktail, Morandin said: “A caress to the body and mind.”

Make your way over to The Dorchester Terrace and Garden or The Spring Garden this summer to sample Morandin’s newest creation, paired with a secret recipe for The Dorchester Bitters. And how might he be celebrating such a momentous occasion? “Toasting with the cocktail, of course!” exclaims Morandin. “A double toast to our anniversary and to welcoming back all of our guests we have missed over the last year.”
