Winter cocktails call for Cognac

By LLM Reporters   |

As the winter chill strikes, embrace the coldest season of the year with a warming Cognac cocktail.

Gone are the months of sipping a lightly flavoured fruity number al fresco so make Cognac your spirit of choice for greater depth of flavour, warmer notes and an endless array of options for mixing up a cocktail.

Clotilde Lataille, bartender at Hawksmoor Spitalfields, says: “Not only is Cognac the original spirit for classic cocktails like the Sazerac, the Sidecar and my favourite, a classic Champagne cocktail, but it’s also ideal for experimenting with flavours and ingredients. Cognac works brilliantly with both sweet and bitter flavours so the options are endless.”

Clotilde’s unique ‘Terroir’ cocktail combines Cognac with the on-trend flavour of nettle and adds Chardonnay and bitters for a warm yet refreshing drink that’s full of flavour. An elegant, short cocktail with a bitter-sweet sensation that you can make within minutes with just four simple ingredients – perfect for a no-fuss dinner party aperitif or to simply enjoy at home for a post-work treat.
