By Georgie Bentley-Buckle   |

A new addition to Hatherley Manor is its plush new spa – now considered one of the finest in and around Cheltenham. Rurally set on the perimeter of a quintessential village and just a 15-minute drive from the city centre, Hatherley Manor’s spa frames its Cotswold’s setting with sleek wellbeing facilities available for both hotel guests and day visitors.

A modern new addition to the 17th Century manor house among 37 acres, the property retains all its historic heritage and charm while providing a luxurious spa experience. Complete with all the facilities needed for a full spa day, Hatherley Manor’s spa includes the Treatment Suite comprising of six luxury treatment rooms alongside one double treatment room for couples’ treatments and a post-treatment relaxation lounge.

Spa users can rotate around the collection of facilities. A heated swimming pool and partnering vitality pool beaming in natural light overlook its neighbouring walled garden. Extending beyond this is the spa’s sauna featuring peepholes out into the garden, a steam room, tepidarium with curved and profiled relaxation seats, experience showers and heated loungers.

The concept here is inspired by the Cotswolds heritage with a focus on natural wellbeing to create a space of peace and tranquillity. Designed to respect the body’s complex physiology, the spa has partnered with Elemis who offer therapies which work in natural synergy with the skin body and mind. Offering a unique experience, each Elemis treatment uses powerful massage sequences with signature scents.

A dynamic spa menu spans across a variety of massages, rituals, scrubs and wraps with specialist pregnancy, men’s, face and beauty treatment options. A popular massage treatment available includes the Elemis freestyle deep tissue massage at either 55 or 85 minutes. A personalised treatment, it uses aromatic oils and is designed to target muscle pain whilst promoting stress relief, relaxation and an overall balance.

A signature ritual available is the Hatherley repair and restore treatment. A deeply relaxing full body exfoliation with warm aromatherapy oils, this ritual is designed to stimulate and nourish the body. This is then followed by a deeply relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage. Meanwhile, inspired by its setting is the Elemis ‘Garden of England Rose Restore’ treatment. Described as a ‘lavishly hydrating massage’ it comes with a micro wrap and features a unique trio combination of rose, camelina and poppy seed oils for supple and delicately scented skin.
