Christian Louboutin Beauté has announced the launch of its long-awaited debut Lip Colour collection.
Available from the 1st September, the range comprises 38 lip colours, three of which are the signature Rouge – the only shade to be repeated in the three finishes available: Velvet Matte, Sheer Voile and Silky Satin.
The line is the latest addition to an exciting collection that takes inspiration from the brand’s infamous footwear designs, with stiletto-like spikes sitting atop bottles of shiny nail lacquer and a blood-red polish the colour of his legendary soles.
“When a woman carries a handbag, we look at her shoulders. When she slips on a pair of heels, we observe her walk. If she applies lacquer to her nails, we admire her hands,” said Louboutin, in a release from the company. “An object that embellishes the lips—the beacon of sensuality and organ of communication—has to be fairly amazing. The object should inspire a beautiful gesture.”
The lip colours come housed in delicate vials which can be worn around the neck between applications, and make for convincing pieces of jewellery as well as show-stopping lipsticks.
The Christian Louboutin Lip Colours will be with us just in time for Autumn, priced at £60, and are sure to fly off beauty counters at lightning speed.
