The spa has recently partnered with The Organic Pharmacy to offer its Spring Clean Ritual throughout May and June 2017. This 80 minute detoxing treatment, which is said to drop your biological age by up to ten years, begins with a green alkalising juice made from fresh cucumber, celery, lemon, ginger, turmeric and apple as well as the first dose of detox capsules, phytonutrients + MSN, essential fatty acid + B Complex and superantioxidants. Guests are then led to the treatment room for the body to be dry brushed to improve circulation, and exfoliated, head-to-toe, with a seaweed, eucalyptus and lemon body scrub. After a quick rinse in the shower, a thick mud containing mineral rich seaweed and eucalyptus is smothered onto the skin and the body is wrapped in tinfoil to encourage toxins to be sweated out. While all of this is going on, guests are given a cedar and rose hip scalp massage. After a second quick shower to scrub the mud off, the Spring Clean is rounded up with a full body massage using a thick, detoxifying body oil.

Why is a spring clean, or a detox, if you will, of the body so important? To answer this, The Organic Pharmacy compares our bodies to a sink; the toxins we put in our bodies are like water going into a sink. In an ideal world our bodies would clean themselves – just like a sink can empty water down the drain. But when our system is overloaded the sink over flows and that’s when we get symptoms of toxicity. These toxins stop each cell from functioning at its best and the body has to use up energy to rid these toxins.

Once guests have had the 80 minute treatment they are led to one of the spas relaxation pods. These dimly lit, individual spaces are made up of a bed, table and headphones with a variety of channels to pick from. After any treatment, but especially after a massage, the muscles that have been worked on need to rest and the body needs rehydrating, so a cup of herbal tea in a quiet space is the perfect opportunity for this.

Unlike most spa treatments, the Spring Clean doesn’t finish once you’ve left the spa – this is a ten day treatment and guests are responsible for keeping up the detox at home. To help, The Four Seasons gives guests a take home kit by The Organic Pharmacy made up of capsules to be taken morning and night to cleanse the gut and help support the liver and kidneys, along with a ten day diet plan.

The Spring Clean Ritual last 80 minutes and costs £275. This includes the take home kit by The Organic Pharmacy. For further details, call 44 (20) 7499-0888 or visit www.fourseasons.com.
