Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Style and Beauty editor Melanie Kruger recently sat down with Peony and discussed everything from her current wardrobe staple to her favourite fashion retailers.

How would you describe your style?

It’s probably got simpler as I have got older. Now I think it is much more about texture and cut then colour or pattern.

Which one item from your wardrobe couldn’t you live without?

White Shirts

What are your current wardrobe staples?

Raw edge cropped jeans, fur lined gucci slippers, uniquo puffer jacket and my leather balmain blazer.

Who inspires your style the most? (celebrity, family member, etc.)

My mother.

If you had to live with only a capsule wardrobe containing ten key pieces, what would they be, and why?

Always I am big on white shirts, skinny jeans, manolo BB pumps, large cashmere scarfs, hermes bags, alaia dresses, balmain blazer, grey cashmere v neck, evening dress from Razan Alazzouni and stubbs and wootton slippers.

Have you had any fashion disasters over the years?

Everyone has worn something they don’t like as much on reflection. I think probably I just go off things.

Where do you like to shop?

A lot online and Harrods. Paris and New York are great – they have a very different buy to London.

What is your favourite trend at the moment?

Off shoulder blouses.

How has your style evolved since you started out in the blogging world?

Less colour and print. More Knits.

What is the best piece of fashion advice you have ever been given?

People should see you not your clothes.
