The Straight and Narrow: Cfast Adult Braces

Dr Hap Gill introduces us to the latest trend in cosmetic dentistry

By LLM Reporters   |

Surveys show that nearly half of us are unhappy with the appearance of our teeth, but only a fraction of us actually do something about it, rejecting the idea of braces because of their appearance.

Whether you have noticed your teeth getting more crooked over the years, or just want a perfect smile, the Cfast system is a quick, discreet and cost-effective solution.

What types of braces are there?

Aligners: These are a series of discreet mouth guards that cause step by step changes to the appearance of your smile. They are fantastic, as long as you remember to wear them and can tolerate them being in your mouth!

Cfast STB lingual braces: Metal braces that sit on the inside of the teeth. Nothing visible from the front, but they can cause discomfort to the tongue.

Cfast: My favourite system at the moment, Cfast is a discreet and modern invisible brace, which is becoming increasingly popular amongst celebrities.

What is involved in Cfast treatment?

A good cosmetic dentist will listen to exactly what you want, so make sure that you have a clear idea in your mind as to what specifically you would like changed about your smile. Your dentist will then make sure that everything is healthy and take photos to assess your smile. Rubber moulds can then be taken of your mouth and a brace fitting can be arranged.

Before the advent of the Cfast system, changes would have taken at least two years to achieve. Because this system focuses purely on cosmetically improving teeth, as opposed to correcting bite problems, the treatment time is shorter and you will notice changes within a few weeks.
