Tried & Tested: Laura Mercier Tarte Au Citron Souffle Body Creme

By Melanie Kruger   |

When it comes to bathroom luxury, it’s safe to say that Laura Mercier has got it well and truly covered. With an incredible-smelling range of gourmande scents to choose from – from Creme Brulee to Fresh Fig, and Almond Coconut Milk –  all sound good enough to eat, and as quite the fan of the zesty French dessert Tarte au Citron, I was thrilled to catch wind of one of the brand’s latest offerings.

The Tarte au Citron range consists of a Souffle Body Creme, Creme Body Wash and Eau Gourmande Eau de Toilette, all of which come with the same delectable smell. While other brands attempt the foodie theme to mediocre effect, Laura Mercier is not one to do things by halves, and the Tarte au Citron Souffle Body Creme smells every bit as buttery and biscuity as the real thing, as well as the obvious lemon. With unique essence of sugared citron, whipped vanilla custard and tart lemon zest, it was all I could do not to smother myself in the entire pot.

A silky, smooth crème that luxuriously nourishes the skin, it has a  lightly whipped feel that is a delight to apply, soaking into the skin in an instant and leaving it immediately softer to the touch.

Just as milk nourishes your body, the key ingredients in Laura Mercier’s Soufflé Body Crème does the same, enriching the skin with much-needed Vitamin A and E derivatives. Grape Seed and Macadamia Nut Oils furhter condition the skin, while Shea Butter offers soothing benefits.

What I really love about this product is the long-lasting scent – put it on before bed and you’ll wake up still smelling incredible in the morning.

In the lead-up to Christmas, I urge you to put this on your wishlist – it will transform your bathtime into a ritual that is pure, indulgent luxury.

The Laura Mercier Tarte Au Citron Collection is available from Selfridges.
