With summer arriving late this year, we’ve been making the most of the light evenings and warmer days by road testing a range of premium outdoor living products from the American brand YETI. Famed in the US for their amazing cool boxes and cool bags, YETI products seriously outperform the run of the mill equivalents we’ve put up with for far too long here in the UK. YETI over-engineer every aspect of every item they make, delivering amazing performance in even the harshest of conditions.
When we met up with YETI experts Stones Boatyard at the Southampton International Boat Show, naturally we were only too happy to try out some of their exciting new products. Based in the boatie paradise of Salcombe, South Devon, the UK’s answer to St Tropez, the Stones family have been building boats and working the crystal clear waters for generations. With the arrival of Covid-19 and the knock-on effect to their business, present owner Tristan Stone decided to diversify the business by partnering with YETI in a bid to grow the popularity of the brand here in the UK.
Designed for adventure, YETI products naturally lend themselves to life’s finer moments when a tepid glass of wine, a warm beer or a watered-down cocktail simply won’t cut it. Engineered to keep food and drink colder for way, way longer, YETI drinkware and coolers are perfect for picnics in the park or beach, long days spent on the water or even trips to the cricket, where the champagne has to stay on ice. Supremely insulated and extra tough, they’ll keep your hot things hot as well, whether it’s tea or coffee, soup or curry – the days of lukewarm food and drinks are over.
1. Wine tumblers – YETI 10 Oz Rambler Wine Tumbler
Big enough to hold a large glass of your favourite rose, these premium outdoor wine tumblers come in a range of colours and feature double-wall vacuum insulation that keeps your drink cold until the very last sip. With a nifty lid to help keep in the cold and keep out flies and sand, they’re a must-have for camping trips, summer barbecues and picnics. What’s more, they’re dishwasher safe and virtually indestructible.
YETI Wine Tumblers are such a big upgrade on your typical outdoor cup, you’ll wonder how you coped without them.
2. Wine cool box – YETI Roadie 24
The smallest of the cool box range, the Roadie 24 Cooler is the only cooler designed to hold bottles of wine standing up. In fact, you can fit eight bottles in this compact cooler along with one of their 4lb ice blocks to keep drinks perfectly chilled. Available from Stones Boatyard in a fantastic choice of colours, these last-a-lifetime cool boxes are surprisingly small and mobile with a chunky carry handle for clink, clink, clinking your way to the party.
3. Cool bags – YETI Hopper M30
It’s a coin toss when choosing between these Hopper M30 shoulder bags and the uber-cool Hopper BackFlip 24 backpack cooler. Ultimately it comes down to your requirements but we’ve opted for the M30 as it offers even more space for your family’s food and drinks. Super tough and incredibly well insulated, these extra-large cool bags mean you’ll never be tucking into soggy sandwiches or a lukewarm beer again.
Waterproof, puncture resistant and with magnetic self-closing access, these next-level cool bags are the perfect upgrade to those flaky low-performance supermarket-bought alternatives.
4. Camping mugs – YETI Rambler 14 Oz Mug
As much as we’d like it to be otherwise, life’s not all rose, Taittinger and cocktails, that’s where these Rambler 14 Oz Mugs come in. For anyone who’s endured enamel tinny camping cups for far too many years, get on board with these luxury camping mugs and never look back.
With the same over-engineering and features as the YETI wine tumblers, these handled camping cups are easy and comfortable to drink from with none of that tinny metallic taste that you get with the cheaper models. With a lid to keep out bugs, dirt and the cold, they keep your tea and coffee hot for hours, they’re dishwasher safe and they look fantastic as well!
5. Kids water bottles – YETI Rambler Jr 12 Oz
If you have kids, grandkids or nieces and nephews you’ll know first-hand the ongoing issues parents have with water bottles. We’ve gone through countless water bottles in our house that have always either been too fiddly to use, leaked from day one or become damaged as they’re inevitably chucked around, dropped or kicked. Well, that’s no longer a problem thanks to these extra-tough and extremely clever Rambler Jr 12 Oz children’s’ drink bottles from YETI.
Robust enough to withstand everyday playtime beatings, insulated to drink water nice and cold all day long and with a great little flip straw lid for easy access and drinking, these 350ml water bottles tick all the boxes. They’re even great for those reluctant little drinkers with the icy cool water all the more appealing.
Choose from five colours including Harbor Pink and Reef Blue, and never have to think about kids water bottles ever again!
6. Luxury camping chairs – YETI Trailhead Camp Chair
If you or a loved one spends a lot of time outdoors then these premium camping chairs are the ultimate indulgence. Sturdy, comfortable and supportive, YETI foldaway chairs are so far ahead of anything else on the market there really is no other choice for those who take sitting down seriously.
With robust double-wall alloy tubes and stainless steel fixings, these luxury Trailhead Camp Chairs will stand the tests of time, allowing you to kick back and relax wherever you are.
Honourable mention – YETI Ice

While we’d love to test them all, for now if you’re considering any of their cool boxes or cool bags, we definitely recommend chucking in a few YETI ICE blocks for maximum performance.
