The Luxury Lifestyle List: Chris Boswell, Dubai real estate agent and investor

By LLM Reporters on 3rd December 2020

We caught up with Chris Boswell, the 38-year-old Dubai-based Luxury go-to agent and founder of CBLR, a boutique international property brokerage with a portfolio of ultra luxury residential properties including London, Dubai, Los Angeles and Miami.

My car of choice

My Porsche (911) Carerra S. I’ve been very fortunate to own many incredible cars over the years including a Ferrari F355, Range Rover Autobiography, Jeep SRT8, Jaguar XKR but Porsche 911’s are my absolute favourite in terms of the drive, design and the fact Steve McQueen, who I’m a huge fan of, owned many Porsche’s throughout his life.

My favourite holiday destination

Lake Como. I am currently searching for a holiday home there for my family and I. We have been vacationing on the Lake almost every summer since 2014. The beauty, ambience and tranquillity of the place is difficult to put into words; it’s truly breathtaking. We tend to stay in either Hotel Villa d’Este in Cernobbio or our friend’s family-run boutique Hotel called The Albergo in Lenno.

My gadget I can’t live without

Naturally my iPhone, however Whatsapp is really what I cannot live without. Since I began using the app, it has completely transformed how I run my business and really was one of the main tools that enabled me to maximise productivity in operating my international business more efficiently.

My go to fashion brand

Armani – I like minimal and simplicity. I have to feel comfortable, I’ve never felt myself in formal attire, I’m not a suit guy, I prefer some jeans and a jacket if it’s required. The suits I do own at the back of the wardrobe are from Armani and the rest of my casual wardrobe is from either Armani or Emporio Armani.

My airline of choice

Emirates. I have been flying with them since 2005. You can fly to over 161 destinations worldwide, fare prices are great value and so many flights operate many times daily from major cities such as London, Dubai, New York and Los Angeles. It’s really deserving that they have been awarded for their operational excellence.

My favourite watch brand

I have a great watch collection including brands such as Hublot, Audemars Piguet, Bvlgari and Cartier. If I had to choose, I would say my Cartier as it’s a great everyday watch. My Santos 100 by Cartier was the first ever luxury watch I purchased back in 2006, It still feels brand new and is known for holding its value.

My favourite restaurant

I have so many but the last really great dining experience was in Geneva at Chez Philippe by Philippe Chevrier. The place has the charm of an authentic grill house designed like a Soho loft in New York with a setting reminiscent of the meatpacking district. The food is really incredible and I recommend a glass of Roberto Olivan’s Tentenublo Rioja.

My guilty pleasure

Again, I have too many! This may sound unorthodox, but it has to be caffeine. Coffee certainly falls into a guilty pleasure for me considering how much of it I drink! You will often find me loitering around my Nespresso machine at home indulging in a cappuccino.

My favourite way to give back

I’m a strong believer in what you put out into the world always comes back at some point or another. I’ve always tried to give back in many different forms, from financial and charitable aid to moral support and trying to be the best version of myself I can be around others. Audrey Hepburn Said: “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
