The Luxury Lifestyle List: Guillaume Thevenot, founder and managing director of BabyBreaks.com

We caught up with Guillaume Thevenot, founder and managing director of leading travel website BabyBreaks.com.

My car of choice

I don’t drive but I would say it would have to be an F-Type Jaguar, if I could choose any car. The F-type is a quintessential sports car, with head-turning design and high-octane drive. It comes in either a coupe or convertible and boasts a snarling supercharged V-6 engine.

My favourite holiday destination

If I consider at all the different destinations we’ve been to as a family, the one we keep revisiting over the past 20 years is Cornwall. I admit it does sound a little cliché, but every time we visit this UK region we find something different to fall in love with. Getting a little closer to nature for example, a gorgeous and easy route to cycle is The Camel Trail. And for a fascinating day out, St Michael’s Mount – a tiny island accessible only at low tide, features a medieval castle, working harbour and a tiny thriving village. The island’s been used as a filming location for numerous films and tv shows, due to its wild and awe-inspiring beauty.

My gadget I can’t live without

My Parrot Zik 1.0 Bluetooth closed-back headphones are the one gadget I can’t live without – the perfect companion for commutes and long-haul flights. They’re a result of a design collaboration with Philippe Starck and offer the ultimate in superior sound. I just love the comfort of these headphones and also the wireless adaptive noise control features too.

My go to fashion brand

I have recently spent a lot of money with Eden Park – a very trendy, French-chic Rugby-oriented brand. The English Rugby coach Eddie Jones wears a lot of their clothes too, easily identifiable by the pink bow tie emblem.

My airline of choice

It has to be Emirates. I love how the staff pay attention to their customers and their great media entertainment (I still have kept the booklet all of the films, tv series, albums they offered on their flight to Dubai, more than 10 years ago). The food is good, even in economy class and the space you have at your seat is really rather generous, compared to other airlines.

My favourite watch brand

I would have to pick Hublot. I adore the brand’s modern design and different limited editions they produce every year. Hublot was founded in 1980 by Italian Carlo Crocco and each watch they create is innovative and bold. I especially love the simple Classic Fusion Blue Titanium.

My favourite restaurant

This is a really hard one, as I always enjoy discovering new restaurants in London or in my childhood city of Paris. Based on the number of times I have had a great experience however I would say my favourite place right now has to be Gauthier Soho on Soho’s Romilly Street. The chef has recently gone vegan and has invented the most divine ‘Faux Gras’. They also offer a 100% vegan tasting menu, which is mouth-wateringly good and a real treat.

My guilty pleasure

I love sound and became fascinated as a young boy with Hi-Fi and what different materials can do to reproduce high quality audio for our ears. My guilty pleasure therefore is to put on some great headphones and listen to a classic album, played through Hi-Res audio from Qobuz. I love to totally escape for thirty minutes to an hour, fully immersed in the music.

My favourite way to give back

I have been a very humble supporter of great causes for many years that help children with diseases, such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and Teenage Cancer Trust, via their concerts. My New Year’s resolution for 2020 is to be more active for these excellent causes. Being an entrepreneur for the past 12 months has also led me to make different lifestyle choices and I am now trying to spend more quality time with my children and wife, this shift in fact was what led me to launch my enterprise – the site BabyBreaks.com.

Offering a unique ‘one stop shop’ concept, BabyBreaks.com aims to inspire users by suggesting great accommodation, restaurants and activities all suitable for families with babies, toddlers and small children, for each destination the site covers.
