A brand new travel experience has launched in the remote highlands of southern Iceland. Visitors can soak up the stunning vistas from the comfort of a panoramic glass lodge, before being taken on a four-day private guided tour of the surroundings, located just 1.5 hours from Reykjavik.

The new immersive four-day Panorama Glass Lodge Escape experience has been created by specialist travel company Off the Map Travel.

This is the first time this accommodation has been included in a luxury travel itinerary, where couples can watch the Northern Lights or enjoy the stunning summertime views from the comfort of their eco-friendly lodge, before being taken on privately guided tours of nearby hot spots.

The self-catering accommodation sleeps two guests with a custom-made, king-sized bed

Four glass domed lodges, each named after Norse mythology characters, sit on this remote piece of land, providing panoramic views of the Icelandic arctic tundra, volcano Hekla and rivers of crystal clear water.

Starting with a luxury jeep collecting visitors from Iceland’s Keflavík Airport, the itinerary begins with a visit to the famous Golden Circle, before arriving at the breath-taking exclusive lodges. The self-catering accommodation sleeps two guests with a custom-made, king-sized bed. As well as a fully equipped kitchen, there is an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower and sustainable toiletries from Iceland’s own SÓLEY organics.

Spacious rooms
Each lodge is heated with sustainable electricity, so no matter what the unpredictable weather has in-store, the lodges remain cosy and warm

Guests also have access to a private sauna and hot tub where they can relax and unwind, surrounded by nature, after the day’s adventures.

“These lodges are the epitome of escapism. The area is remote meaning there is no light pollution so it is the perfect spot for stargazing and appreciating the incredible midnight sun in summer and northern lights in winter,” Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel, said.

Each lodge is heated with sustainable electricity, so no matter what the unpredictable weather has in-store, the lodges remain cosy and warm. Water from the nearby spring supplies the lodges and is one of the purest water sources in the world.

Experiences at Panorama Glass Lodge Escape
Over the course of the four-day experience, guests will visit ice caves on the South Coast, have a snowmobile adventure at a glacier and take a dip in the Blue Lagoon

“These exclusive panoramic lodges provide a totally unrivalled view of the landscape,” Cooper added: “This is the first time they have been included in a travel experience that brings together everything the guest needs from transfers to the best locally guided activities.

“For those looking for adventure followed by total relaxation then this is the perfect experience combination.”

The four-day, three-night Panorama Glass Lodge Escape itinerary costs from £3,199 per person, on a self-catering basis, based on two people travelling, not including flights.

This includes privately guided tours in a luxury jeep throughout, two nights in luxury panoramic accommodation, one night’s hotel accommodation in Reykjavik, and all activities listed, with private guides who can tailor the itinerary based on the weather and time of year.
