By LLM Reporters   |

Kishore and Smita Iyengar sink into the uber plush environs of Airport Lounge World in Terminal 1 at Munich Franz Josef International Airport in Germany and feel totally rejuvenated.

OASIS OF CALM

Far from the hustle, bustle and flurry of the two airport terminals of the fabulous, award winning Munich International Airport, you ascend to the instantly calming interiors of smart chic welcome. The vibe is friendly, the courtesies at the reception are crisp and cheery and that prepared us for our truly awaited 6 hours of relaxation, rest and lounge luxury, quite unlike any other. This is the spanking, dazzling Airport Lounge World on level 6 of Terminal 1, departure Gate B after security check.

Brightly lit with diffused luminance, the expansive hyper angled windows looking out to airport aprons and taxiing aircraft brought smiles on our faces as we settled into the lush, enscons of semi-circular soft sofas and ergonomically comforting lounge chairs. Only the silence overwhelming us to inviting stillness.

Wilkommen in der Airport Lounge World. We felt instantly at ease after the long haul across Asia and Europe. Taking in the interiors and design elements with keen, exploring sights, we noticed careful, empathetic planning, spaciously well laid seating and relaxing covers, demarcated areas and eye soothing tones.

Sleek ivory white luxurious enclaves open out to nerve soothing Bavarian Alpine green sofas punctuated with side rests that had power charging sockets and ultra mod lamps. A contrasting, interspersing brown added cheer to the combination as we stretched ourselves with excellent roast coffee and croissants. Smoking Lounge areas are a consideration, while local and international TV and news are a bonus.

We liked the Bistro and self-service buffet alcove which was German neat, crisp and handy. The distinct inclusion of polished raw Bavarian Alpine wood panels at strategic corners added dynamism to the décor. Hot chefing dishes, piping snacks and hors d’oeuvres are always on the offer on their ample buffet.
