Hotel Review: Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks, Karnataka in India

By Jyoti Balani   |

In the month of December, I was invited to the Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks. It was a really good time to be in hotels as Christmas was just around the corner and most hotels all over the country were decked up with an air of festivity around them.

Hilton Embassy Golf Link Bangalore is located in a campus that overlooks an expansive golf course and houses some of the best known corporations in the world. With a multi-cuisine food court, visitors’ car park, 24-hour ambulance service, ATM and a fire station, this area is very popular with locals and tourists. Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks has been featured in three-time Pulitzer winner Thomas Friedman’s iconic bestseller “The World is Flat”.

“With every passing day, we try to keep varying the way we function to keep up with the upward trends. It can be our Food and beverage offerings, amenities for our guests in the rooms, various packages, lounge offerings and services etc. Restrictions are not something that have bound us, rather, the idea is to provide the best of the best service by keeping the quality at zenith, yet, striving at a healthy growth. Our guests and service are the two most important heads that me and my team believes in, said General Manager Manish Garg.

Ideal for extended stays, suites and studios in this hotel are amongst some of the largest in the city. Fully equipped kitchenettes, views of the golf course or swimming pool from the rooms, etc make for a great stay in this hotel.

The Salt Grill, an al fresco restaurant by the poolside, serves a selection of Indian and Eastern Mediterranean grilled delicacies. Delicious vegetarian options and authentic European meats creatively cooked and flavored on Himalayan Salt Slabs are a delight and I tried this innovative concept while I was at the hotel. This is an ideal venue to unwind and relax with a range of premium spirits, cocktails and mocktails as the sun goes down. The cabana seating gives this place a romantic feel and with trees around which are lit up with fairy lights in the evening, the place looks ethereal.

I visited Ministry of Food for lunch and dinner during my stay, this is an all-day global cuisine restaurant that serves a wide selection of European, Pan-Asian, Japanese and Indian specialities. Live interactive cooking stations, a cart selling chaat and a good variety of alcohol make this place an attractive option for lunch, dinner and breakfast. The restaurant also has a private dining space and an exclusive wine table for those who prefer to dine in privacy. The menu lists down several interesting preparations such as the mango chitrana, a local specialty which I tried along with the mulligatawny soup with stewed apple and brown rice. While you are dining at The Ministry of food make sure you try the tomato tea essence which is a clear soup, the pan seared salmon with slow cooked cherry tomato, char grilled prawns with cous cous salad and end a great meal with sugar free berry éclair with ginger cookie and fresh berries in the dessert section.

With a selection of signature teas and coffees, an extensive choice of cakes, chocolate delights and gourmet sandwiches, re:cess is perfect to spend time chatting with friends over a cup of coffee or over a casual meeting. I tried the neer dosa stuffed with chicken at this venue and it was delicious. This is a great place for a coffee or a pastry for those who have a sweet tooth. I was delighted to see a whole range of teas listed in the menu given my weakness for teas.

I spent a couple of hours both the days interacting with the affable General Manager Manish Garg in Klinx, an impressive bar cum lounge located at lobby level. Expert bartenders here serve excellent cocktails along with snacks. Klinx is derived from the word ‘Clink’ of glasses. Klinx with its plush seating and refined ambience is perfect for casual meets over a glass of sangria with kababs.

A stay at Hilton Bangalore Embassy GolfLinks is perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation as it houses the O2 spa and salon where I spent a considerable amount of time.
