Hotel Review: JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa, Rajasthan in India

By Jyoti Balani   |

Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital is popular with locals and tourists alike for its charm and royal palaces, and is an ideal destination for weddings.

I had heard a lot about the beauty of the brand new JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa, a new hotel in the pink city so it was a pleasure to be invited by General Manager-Chandrashekhar Joshi.

I was received at the airport by Aradhana from the hotel’s front office team and the 35 minute drive to the hotel was immensely entertaining thanks to her vibrant personality. En route I was offered a refreshing welcome drink and the check-in procedure was also finished seamlessly.

As one enters the stunning palatial hotel, it is impossible to not get captivated with its beauty, design and the warmth of the efficient and friendly staff. A traditional Rajasthani welcome by Sarah Raina, Director of Sales & Marketing was like icing on the cake.

The lobby offers a stunning welcome

The JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa is an ideal destination to experience the grandeur of Rajasthan’s Royalty and its splendid culture while enjoying the comforts of the best in modern amenities. Surrounded by the stunning Aravali range, the resort stands out as an oasis of style and indulgence.

With 200 spacious luxury rooms, the JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa offers refined sophistication and quiet elegance. The resort has 85 royal rooms, 22 royal terrace rooms, 11 royal family rooms, 16 palace studio suites, 23 courtyard villas, 41 royal pool villas, 1 palace suite and 1 presidential suite.

Soon after arrival, I was driven to a royal pool villa in a buggy and before I could even get over the magical beauty of the enchanting villa, I was bowled over by the welcome amenities (curated gourmet chocolates and my photo in a mirror work frame).

Situated just off NH11, the JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa is located approximately 29 kms from the Jaipur International Airport.

Located close to one of Jaipur’s iconic landmarks – the Amber Fort – the hotel offers a glimpse into the region’s colourful culture and mouth-watering local cuisine.

An architectural gem, JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa brings the culture and history of Rajasthan to life with several authentic experiences.

With aesthetically designed rooms offering a breath- taking view of the surrounding Aravali, unique dining options, an elaborate entertainment and kid’s zone and the luxurious JW Spa, JW Marriott Jaipur serves as an ideal getaway for guests who wish to explore the wonders of nature as well as Rajasthan’s glorious culture while feeling indulged and pampered in the very lap of luxury.

As it was really warm outside, I decided to spend a lot of time relaxing in the Spa by JW, a serene space decorated in shades of white. I tried the signature massage along with a body scrub and wrap.

Executive Chef Yogendar Pal and his team ensure that guests are treated to local flavours during their stay. Sukh Mahal is an all-day dining restaurant featuring regional, Indian and International cuisine.

This contemporary restaurant offers buffet options for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as an a la carte menu. The menu offers signature local dishes such as Ker Sangri, Laal Maas and many other delicacies which I tried during my visit. I was offered an elaborate thaali breakfast which is a local specialty.

Architecturally inspired from the Sheesh Mahal at Amer Fort in Jaipur, the Indian specialty restaurant called Mohan Mahal, offers a unique dining experience and offers a glimpse into the elegant and graceful fine-dining, enjoyed by the Royals of Rajathan.

Instead of traditional lightning, candles are used to give the restaurant a cosy and elegant feel. The light from these flames is reflected by numerous mirrors, displayed across the restaurant, creating a warm and regal ambience. Signature dishes such Laal Maas, Murgh Makkai ka soweta, Dana Methi ki Sabzi and more were showcased in a thaali form when I visited this restaurant for dinner.

Mohan Mahal is cosy yet elegant

During my stay I visit the refined and elegant Jharokha for a drink before dinner. The smart and effervescent Vita Vladimirski, (Dewar whiskey’s brand ambassador) created an exciting cocktail for me while I was admiring the beauty of Jharokha.

The resort houses more than 51,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor venues including Vikramaditya Ballroom (11000 sq. ft.) and two meeting halls Nahargarh and Jaigarh (900 sq. ft. each) with their designated pre-function areas. Two lush green lawns offer a magical setting for events.

Whether it is a big fat Indian wedding and social events or focused corporate meetings and conferences, the resort offers curated experiences with flawless co-ordination.

The JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa also offers fun activities for kids such as a space equipped with the latest toys, video games, play house and a large library. Exciting activities like canvas painting, storytelling, book reading and movie time ensures that kids are always busy and entertained in this hotel.

The resort offers a glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich culture and heritage through activities such as the aarti and puja ceremony, morning flute, pottery making, and a high tea session for in house guests called ‘Kukas ki Chaupar’

Plenty of activities are on offer at the hotel and local attractions are easily accessed

The JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa offers a multitude of sport and fitness options such as yoga and meditation sessions, aqua aerobic lessons, swimming coaching as well as fun Zumba classes. The resort encourages guests to enjoy a game of badminton, croquet, table tennis and cycling to explore the stunning property.

Royal experiences such as an exciting elephant or camel polo game or an elephant safari are fun activities for the entire family. Guests can also request a private yoga or cooking session or a game of cricket or lessons in painting after enjoying a walk exploring the majestic Aravali range and its surrounding flora and fauna.

Jaipur is home to impressive forts and elaborate havelis such as the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort, on request the resort organizes a tour of these attractions.

The resort also offers easy access to various other tourist attractions such as Jantar Mantar Observatory, Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur Zoo, Kanak Vrindavan, Sisodia Rani Bagh, Hathi Gaon and Chand Baori. Ornate temples of Jaipur such as the Birla Mandir and the Galtaji Temple offer a spiritual getaway and can be easily accessed from the resort.

The JW Marriott Jaipur Resort & Spa is one of the most beautiful hotels in India located in Rajasthan, home to India’s royalty! The warm, efficient and friendly staff led by General Manager Chandrashekhar Joshi only adds to the charm of the property and ensures that all guests have a splendid time in the hotel. Definitely worth several visits!
