Hotel Review: Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, Ibiza in Spain

By Georgie Bentley-Buckle   |

It’s often hard to find somewhere that the little ones will enjoy as much as the adults. A hotel that embodies this is Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay – a sophisticated yet fun loving beach retreat for the whole family.

Undeniably chic whilst keeping kids entertained, this is a hotel that no one compromises on. Having completed three summer seasons on the relaxed shores of Talamanca Bay which offers a true sense of place overlooking the Ibizan Old Town beyond, the SLH hotel has quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after destinations on the iconic island, not only hotel guests but for day visitors too.

An insider secret we have learnt is that whilst hotel guests head out for the day to peruse their way around the island, Ibiza Bay becomes an oasis for day guests.

This year the bohemian styled hotel introduced a collection of new jacuzzi rooftop suites to its portfolio, the new Bay Café as well as new tapas menu available to guests to browse poolside. An insider secret we have learnt is that whilst hotel guests head out for the day to peruse their way around the island, Ibiza Bay becomes an oasis for day guests. From spacious poolside Bali beds, rooftop yoga classes, the indulgence of its Six Senses spa, the John Frieda Salon along with its portfolio of restaurants including beachside Chambao, Bay Café and of course Nobu – Ibiza Bay’s offerings welcome all to enjoy. Because who says you have to spend the night to enjoy the perks?

Having completed three summer seasons on the relaxed shores of Talamanca Bay, the hotel offers a true sense of place overlooking the Ibizan Old Town beyond.

On our visit we spread out on one of the poolside Bali beds before drifting over to Chambao, the hotel’s laissez-faire restaurant specialising in home style cooking with authentic island recipes. With shabby chic floorboards which sit alongside sand and chunky rope features, it’s easy to spend hours of your day here at Chambao. Alongside jugs of white sangria, dishes on its friendly menu are ideal for family style sharing. From a large plate of burrata, salty, green padron peppers and a traditional Valencian paella – everything here is inspired by the surroundings of the Mediterranean.

Residing next to the equally chic kids club, designed for the coolest families – Chambao is perfectly designed for family groups. Whilst grown-ups sip on rose or sangria whilst tucking into the restaurant’s famous salt baked sea bass, just next-door little ones can get stuck into mini white & hippie parties, DJ lessons and mini yoga, whilst on Sunday chef Carlos from Chambao steps in with paella making Sundays for the whole family.

Whether you choose to stay as a hotel guest or simply visit for the day – Ibiza Bay provides the finest in sophisticated luxury. The Six Senses Spa offers a wide collection of treatments – from massages, body treatments and facials. This also includes their Spa & Lunch package: a 60-minute Zen massage followed by a healthy bite at Chambao. Whilst the John Frieda Salon offers everyone quick fix me-ups with an Ibizan twist, from boho beach waves to more sleek evening looks. And for those looking for some retail thereby, Ibiza Bay’s boutique Almacen offers a selection of hand picked local and international designers and fashion accessories as well as hand-made arts and crafts.

Rates at Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay start at €630 (approx. £550) per night, based on double occupancy. The hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
