Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas undergoes $690 million makeover

By Georgie Bentley-Buckle   |

Featuring famous works from artists including Damien Hirst, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas is one of the world’s most iconic art hotels. Recently, however, there is now another reason this luxury resort is being recognised following its transformation undergoing the world’s most extravagant makeover at $690 million.

The most expensive resort renovated to date, Station Casinos endeavoured to ensure they kept up with stiff industry competition following 18 years of operation. Reimaging the entirety of the property, across its two towers – 700 rooms, a three-floor spa, entertainment venues, it also included the opening of KAOS, the Palms’ day and nightclub.

Covering 73,000 square feet of outdoor space and 29,000 square feet of adjacent nightclub space indoors is Palms Casino Resort’s KAOS day and night club – one of the largest elements to this extraordinary renovation. Travelling to Greece to gain inspiration for its design concept, clean lines sit alongside crisp hues of blue and white around a large pool with daybeds. Responsible for this luxurious new design concept is the team at Friedmutter Group Las Vegas and Station Casinos’ in-house design and construction teams.

After a stunning $690 million makeover, Palms Las Vegas is ready for the future

Palms Casino Resort Las Vegas has broken more than one record with their renovation price tag. KAOS features a number of these including that almost all of its 39 cabanas have their own private pools, personal audio systems, televisions along with fans and misters to keep guests cool in the heat. Whilst turning our attention to other milestones they have achieved; this Las Vegas resort now also has the highest number of pools in North America and is being the home of the world’s largest LED light wall in the city at 270 feet tall.

Part of the property’s third stage of renovations was the resort’s expansive casino. Spanning over 3,300 new slot machines and 16 table games, the casino offers Baccarat, blackjack alongside high-limit rooms across a shining new slot floor. Whilst in keeping with the resort’s famous collection of artworks threaded throughout is a unique piece of artwork that has been installed behind the cashier cage from artist Timothy Curtis. Named ‘I Wear my Money on my Face’, the twenty-foot painting is a composition of faces that are made out of worldwide currency symbols.

The casino ensures its guests are always near the action with every hand at their fingertips, offering a combination of slots, sports and casino classics. For the ultimate gaming experience, the casino’s High Limit Room offers a more intimate experience within luxurious surroundings. Big stake games can be enjoyed alongside a wide collection of made to order cocktails, served direct to the gaming tables.

Palms Casino Resort has truly pushed the boundaries of limitless luxury

A spokesperson for Netent.net, who list the latest online casino sites, commented: “Following this incredible two-year renovation, Palms Casino Resort has truly secured itself as a world-class luxury gaming destination alongside its unparalleled resort facilities – establishing itself as one of the very best casinos on the Las Vegas strip.”

A renovation that looked to establish some of the most luxurious hotel rooms in the world was led by Avenue Interior Design alongside Bentel and Bentel who were responsible for the resort’s six iconic Sky Villas. Unlike anything Las Vegas has seen before, each of the Sky Villas features personal pools, private dining experiences with two-level works of art from Damien Hirst. There are also several themed ‘Revolve’ suites for guests to choose from.

Palms Casino Resort has truly pushed the boundaries of limitless luxury with each of these themed suites, from private bowling lanes and personal basketball courts, each suite has been mindfully designed for every type of guest in mind. From the Hardwood Suite with its personal basketball court to the elegant Revolve suite designed around the perfect girls’ night out and The Kingpin Suite with its in-house bowling lanes, the design team have even created the Cinema Suite for private screenings.

Part of the property’s third stage of renovations was the resort’s expansive casino

An all-encompassing, one-stop experience, this iconic luxury resort spans across its distinct three towers and a wide range of bars, restaurants, live entertainment venues for the pinnacle of immersive lifestyle experiences.
