Luxury boutique operator Eden Hotel Collection acquired the 35 bedroom Tides Reach Hotel in South Sands, Salcombe in 2014 from the Edwards family, who had owned the property for 47 years.

The company says it will spend in the region of £12m on an extensive redevelopment project, which will see the hotel expand to 50 bedrooms. It is expected to be open to the public in 2018.

“The new waterfront hotel, complete with spa, private beach and an extensive terrace with sea views, will offer high quality and contemporary dining and luxury stays on this beautiful section of British coastline,” Eden Hotel Collection said in a statement.
