If you have a desire to set sail on an indulgent adventure filled with luxury and splendour, then you certainly do not need to look further than the newly unveiled Celebrity Edge.

Celebrity Cruises inaugurated the new revolutionary build this December, after four years developing it. By reimagining extravagant cruising for the luxury traveller, the unique outward facing design brings guests closer to the ocean than ever before.

Designed by world-renowned architects and designers and reaching more than a thousand feet long, Celebrity Edge will accommodate more than 2,900 guests. The greatly anticipated ship was officially named and launched by UN Messenger of Peace and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai on the 4th of December, 2018.

Featuring the world’s first cantilevered platform, the ‘Magic Carpet’ will take you on an experience like never before as the floating, all-glass venue is suspended from the side of the ship. This exclusive innovation moves 14 decks up and down, offering guests luxurious experiences, ranging from an exclusive restaurant, rightfully named ‘Dinner on the Edge’, to an embarkation lounge specifically for private luxury launches.

According to Jo Rzymowska, the Vice President and Managing Director of Celebrity Cruises UK, Ireland and Asia, this new cruising experience has to be “seen to be believed”.

Rzymowska explained how “there is simply no other holiday retreat at sea or on land like it. Through collaboration with world designers and architects, we have reimagined what it means to holiday at sea and can’t wait for the world to experience it”.

The anticipated unveiling of Celebrity Edge marks a season of extensive investment from Celebrity Cruises, as it is the first of four new vessels being introduced to the cruise line between now and 2022, including the second in the Edge-Class family, as Celebrity Apex will be based in Southampton and launching in spring 2020.

With the help of the highly-esteemed interior designer, Kelly Hoppen MBE, deluxe accommodation onboard will offer guests a chance to bring the environment closer to them, as stylish Infinite Balconies incorporates outside space indoors blurring the boundaries between the ship and the waters.

Featuring some of the most expensive and luxurious suites at sea with open-air plunge pools and breathtaking 270-degree views, guests will be able to fully indulge themselves in the masterpiece that is Celebrity Edge. Ranging from spectacular twin-level villas with outdoor plunge pools to exquisite suites with eighty-two feet of glass showcasing glorious vistas out to sea from the lounge, bedroom and dining room.

Diners will be spoilt for choice as Celebrity Edge features 29 distinctive restaurants, bars, cafés and lounges. Encompassing everything from a steakhouse and raw bar to Le Petit Chef, where guests can witness their dinner come to life through engaging digital animation.

One of the most imaginative spaces onboard has been rightfully named Eden. Created by world-renowned designer, Patricia Urquiola, architect Scott Butler and theatrical mastermind, Variety Worldwide, Eden is unlike anything else at sea and will offer guests three levels of sensory experiences.

Guests will experience a multi-sensory fusion of exquisite culinary and entertainment services. Awakening aromas rising from the glorious Eden Café to the natural scents of the eighteen-feet-tall Library of Plants living wall growing above the Eden Bar will entice guests to indulge themselves within this spectacular exclusive space.

Adding to the experience, guests can enjoy a unique and personal culinary experience at the elegant Eden Restaurant while listening to the crescendo of theatrics that closes the night. By making your way through Eden, you will truly witness something quite exclusive and exciting; with more outward facing glass than any other room on the ship, guests will have views to truly envy on this ocean oasis.

To enhance your relaxation period, indulge yourself in the ships generous spa, also designed by Hoppen, the London-based designer. Make use of the SEA Thermal Suite, which welcomes guests with eight nature-inspired therapeutic experiences, as well as offering superb quartz crystal treatment tables. An infrared sauna will calm your body and relieve you from stress while the Mist Aroma Steam Room will soothe your senses. For those aiming to remain active, there are many options to choose from such as using the inspiring fitness centre or taking part in the world’s first peloton bikes at sea.

For those who want to indulge in retail therapy, then Celebrity Edge grants guests their wishes. Choose from world-famous brands like Bulgari, Tiffany & Co and Cartier, including brands known for their female leadership, empowerment and entrepreneurship, such as the Malala Fund Collection, John Hardy, Rae Feather and S’well. On Edge Class, guests will also be treated to renowned brands never before offered at sea as exclusive products, which will include Atelier Cologne, Jo Loves and Marc Jacobs.
