The Luxury Ski Guide 2015

By LLM Reporters on 31st December 2014

With the winter now firmly upon us, we looked at some of the best European ski breaks on the slopes this season.

For those who… love gourmet ski

Chalet Du Vallon, Meribel

This beautiful property is featured in the Avery Crest portfolio, and sleeps eight in a beautifully relaxed luxury.

Set in a fantastic location, the chalet sits in the small hamlet of Meribel Village, the original resort of the valley, just 2 minutes walk from the Golf chairlift, offering true ski-in, ski-out ease.

Finished in an opulently contemporary French style, the chalet’s four en-suite bedrooms are above a spacious open-plan living area, whilst those needing a little more relaxation have the steam room, hot tub and home cinema to melt into.

Food here is exceptional, and the chef creates mouth watering menus, ranging from four course gastronomic feasts to tasty afternoon tea, prepared for guests as they return from a day on the slopes. Champagne and canapés are served each evening in front of the fire.

Recently, Chalet Du Vallon introduced cookery lessons, demonstrations and tastings in the chalets. Lessons have different themes, depending on guests’ wishes from canapés, soups and sauces to indulgent deserts.

One week from the 25 January starts from £1,245 per person, based on eight sharing.

For those who… spare no expense

Chalet Petit Palais, Courchevel

Some destinations need to be seen to be believed, and the Petit Palais lives up to its name as an exceptional ski-in, ski-out chalet, situated on the slopes of the Bellacote piste in Courchevel 1850, with access to the Three valleys ski area.

Built over six floors, and with all served by lifts as well as stairs, this chalet offers the ultimate in comfort, style and service. The property has been built to an extremely high standard with no expense spared to create the perfect luxury ski chalet.

On the top floor of the chalet the living area comprises of a large lounge with a central wood burning stove, a separate TV lounge and a mezzanine library for those sometimes needed quiet moments.

Perhaps the most indulgent feature is the state-of-the-art cinema and chalet nightclub, fully equipped with a professional DJ kit, sound system and lit dance floor.

There is also an incredible spa and fitness floor, with swimming pool, large jacuzzi and loungers.

One week starts from £160,000.

In the exclusive enclave of Oberlech, with breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks, this ski-in and ski-out chalet is Lech’s most prestigious luxury property, and is perfect for those who enjoy a more peaceful ski experience.

The chalet can be accessed by vehicle throughout the season – atypical in the Oberlech area – but still discrete enough for celebrities and A-listers seeking a chalet away from prying eyes.

The chalet is located at the very edge of the piste with ski-in and ski-out access, and possesses a relaxation area and spa, outdoor hot tub, sauna, Hammam, fitness area, massage room, snooker room, bar, library, and a cinema.
