Following the government’s long-awaited revelation of the roadmap out of lockdown and the future looking a little brighter, it means a relaxing weekend away will finally be possible.

Staycations are looking to be the most popular holiday craze this year, with travellers valuing the relaxation and luxury that the UK has to offer. Here are our top luxurious London staycation destinations this year – including Kingsland Locke, The Londoner, STAY and others.

Kingsland Locke

The basement area of Kingsland Locke, located in heart of Dalston

Located in one of London’s most eclectic neighbourhoods, Kingsland Locke will house Locke’s signature studio apartments, as well as an on-site microbrewery and gin distillery, all-day restaurant, co-working space, workout studio and coffee shop. Originally slated for January, the new property will boast 124 self-contained apartments designed in collaboration with east London based design studio Red Deer.

Kingsland Locke will be home to KRAFT Dalston, an exciting new food and drink venture formed between German Kraft Brewery, Jim and Tonic Distillery and Le Bab. KRAFT Dalston will boast a gin distillery and microbrewery on site at Kingsland Locke, reducing the outlet’s CO2 footprint by 75 per cent by eliminating any unnecessary packaging and deliveries to the site.

Perfect for a short stay away, each apartment has room to relax and unwind

After establishing locations in Soho and Covent Garden, Le Bab will expand east for the first time; returning to London’s kebab heartland, which first inspired its modern take on the traditional kebab. Shaman will also be located on the ground floor, serving third-wave coffee and grab-and-go items to guests and passers-by.

The Londoner

Beneath the historic Leicester Square, an urban haven for relaxation awaits

As some of the most prolific players in the London hospitality scene, Edwardian Hotels London has not slowed in their quest to launch The Londoner, at a time when the industry needs it most.

Taking centre stage on Leicester Square, The Londoner will welcome arrivals not only placing guests in the world’s first super boutique hotel, but also at the heart of the West End theatreland. So much more than a hotel, The Londoner will offer an ‘urban resort’ destination of the highest architectural quality.

Deluxe Rooms are designed to accommodate both work and relaxation, while giving you a fantastic view of London

Opening across 16 storeys, the hotel will feature 350 guest rooms, suites and a tower penthouse with panoramic views, two private screening rooms, a mix of six concept eateries – including bars and a tavern, alfresco dining on the ground floor and a contemporary Japanese lounge bar with a rooftop terrace and fire pit – plus an expansive ballroom suited for any occasion, a variety of meeting spaces and a results-driven gym and wellness centre.
