Dave Gillan

Dave Gillan, aka The Private Traveller, started his travel inspiration career when holidaying on the island of Tsarabanjina off the northern coast of Madagascar. Having already travelled to more than 60 countries and with an aspiration for at least 100+, his passion for travel focuses on all aspects from research and planning, to booking and taking the trip, to then writing about his travel experiences afterwards. As well as publishing fully detailed travel itineraries, hotel/airline/train reviews, and spa/wellness reviews from a man’s perspective, he also writes a Travel Diaries series focussing on things to do to enhance a trip. He focuses on the high-end luxury travel market, from flights to hotels, and he has been lucky enough to experience the ultra-exclusive Japanese Train Suite Shiki-shima among other special train journeys.
