Hyundai release details of the IONIQ design ahead of Korean debut next month

Due to launch in Korea later this month, the IONIQ from Hyundai teases us with interior and exterior renderings set to boost it’s eco-friendly credentials.

The exterior of the IONIQ features a stand-out, cutting-edge aerodynamic design with simple yet carefully wrought contours. It’s coupe-like silhouette is graceful and with wind resistance at the forefront of design the airflow is efficiently managed. Around to the front and the familiar Hyundai design themes are evident – particularly the signature hexagonal grille – with eye-catching blue and white colours blending with the headlights highlighting the purity of the IONIQ.

Inside, the elegant and smooth design continues with a sleek and light feel with a logical layout for controls. It’s simple yet effective surfaces make use of eco-friendly materials whilst conveying a futuristic whilst warm cabin ambience. The environmental needs are met with the outstanding fuel efficiency, performance and handling but hasn’t been forgotten even within the small design features.

The IONIQ is due to be shown at the Geneva International Motor Show and the New York Auto Show in March 2016 after its world premiere in Korea later this month.
