Rolls-Royce extend their love affair with Rock & Roll

By Grace Cunningham   |

In January 1961, Elvis Presley walked into the Beverley Hills Rolls-Royce dealership and ordered a Rolls-Royce Phantom V triggering Rolls-Royce’s love affair with Rock & Roll which is set to continue with their announcement of launching their Wraith ‘Inspired by Music’.

Since the launch of Wraith in 2013 Rolls-Royce customers have been able to commission their Rolls-Royce Wraith with Bespoke Audio, the most exhaustively designed sound system in automotive history.

Blending the finest components with the highest level of expertise the Wraith ‘Inspired by Music’ brings the characteristics to the fore front of the design delivering an unrivalled experience.  To customers looking for a creative and unique motor car look no further.

Aesthetically it’s ‘cool’ use of copper “creates an atmospheric setting for the most encompassing music system on the market” in the eyes of Torsten Müller Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

From the exterior paint finish, re-imagined speaker grilles and door inserts the hint of copper is evident throughout the design complimenting the characteristic internal curve that is expected of the Wraith. The attention to detail is impressive, an example being that the chaplets on the clock have been designed and meticulously crafted with a combination of warming copper and silver, whilst the radial lines of the outer bezel playfully emulate the look and feel of vinyl records.

The Bespoke Audio system was created from scratch by the best automotive audio engineers in the world over a two year process whilst working alongside the interior designers of Rolls-Royce to ensure it was intone to the interior cabin. The clarity of sound provided is incredible with two ‘exciter’ speakers handed-fitted in the car to ensure the output is distributed evenly at ear-level, as you would expect in a live setting. In built microphones monitor the ambient and exterior noises to adjust volume and tone to ensure that nothing interrupts the listening pleasure.
