The world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible : The Range Rover Evoque Convertible

By Grace Cunningham   |

Land Rover have been teasing us over the past few months with snippets of whats to come and finally they have unveiled the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible.

The original Range Rover Evoque shape resonates with the hearts of many and has adapted well to an elegant convertible design, the first convertible ever to grace the Range Rover collection. The global SUV market is forecast to grow by 20% over the next five years* and the Evoque Convertible promises to play a key role in pioneering an all-new SUV sector.

Remaining faithful to the beautiful Evoque silhouette, a sophisticated fabric roof fitted with a Z-fold mechanism allows for a sleek appearance when upright or lowered taking just 21 seconds to raise and 18 to lower. Critically the convertible feature has not affected the loadspace with a generous 251-litre boot.

Enhancements have been made with a Land Rover debut for the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system and advanced safety systems including a Roll-Over Protection Device whilst the Convertible boasts Land Rover’s world-class all-terrain capability, using the same advanced technologies as Evoque five-door and Coupé derivatives. A customary choice of four-wheel drive powertrains combines with Land Rover’s nine-speed automatic transmission, Terrain Response® system, Wade Sensing and All-Terrain Progress Control to ensure the Evoque is a convertible for all seasons.

The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible will go on sale from Spring 2017 with the UK starting price £47,500 OTR based on a TD4 HSE Dynamic derivative.
