iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are set to hit the market in September 2015

Apple unveil the 6s and 6s Plus

By Grace Cunningham on 9th September 2015

Apple® have today unveiled their most advanced iPhones® ever, the 6s and 6s Plus featuring a new dimension to the Multi-Touch™ interface including 3D Touch encouraging intuitive access to features and interactive content.

The 3D Touch enables Peak and Pop™ allowing you to dip in and out of content without losing where you are and creates shortcuts to the things you do the most with just a simple press on the home screen. Set to combat the dreaded iPhone screen smash, the 6S and 6S Plus feature Retina® HD displays made with the strongest glass on any smartphone to date.

Camera improvements can be seen in increased definition video with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, delivering over 8 million pixels and in the new 5-megapixel FaceTime® HD camera and Retina Flash.

Live Photos are another new addition, enabling the user to bring still images to life by capturing a moment in motion, 12-megapixel photos that, with just a press, reveal the moments immediately before and after the shot was taken, so you can enjoy a living memory rather than an instant frozen in time. Live Photos are powered by the Apple-designed A9 chip, the most advanced chip ever in a smartphone set to deliver faster performance and thankfully to the ears of iPhone users, improved battery life.

Advanced wireless technologies include faster Wi-Fi and LTE Advanced allowing for faster browsing, downloads and streaming whilst supporting up to 23 LTE bands – the most in any smartphone to allow better worldwide roaming.

To complete the list of upgraded features Apple have released iOS 9 bringing proactive assistance, powerful search and improved  Siri® features along with increased protection for the users’ privacy. Oh and Apple have sorted out one of the biggest bug bearers, the foundation of iOS now requires less space to install, so the panic of having enough memory for updates should subside a little, so users can breathe a sigh of relief.

Both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available in gold, silver, space gray and the new rose gold metallic finish with apple-designed accessories including leather and silicone cases in a range of colours and Lightning Docks in color-matched metallic finishes also available.
