Park Crescent, one of John Nash’s greatest pieces of architecture, is a Grade I listed curved terrace that was originally designed for royalty. Built in the early 1800s, the spectacular collection of residences were planned for the family and friends of the then prince regent George IV, who had grand plans to construct a private residence greater than Buckingham Palace in the heart of Regent’s Park. This scheme never came to fruition, but Nash’s magnificent buildings remain and following refurbishment in 2016 Park Crescent is now occupied by the great and good of the modern day.

Currently available within this historic landmark is an impressive c.5000 sq. ft. four-bedroom apartment, which is on the market at a guide price of £14.95 million, though prime property consultancy Tyburn.

The sizeable home features excellent living/entertaining space across the first floor, with four-metre-high ceilings, and with the principal bedroom, walk-in dressing room and guest bedroom suite on the floor. There is also a kitchen/dining room and an impressive double reception room that opens onto a private terrace and looks out onto the landscaped garden square.

On the second floor there are two further guest bedroom suites and the upper floor of the principal bedroom, which connects via a private staircase, with a large bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.

The apartment benefits from a private lift, which leads to a spectacular private roof terrace, which is accessed from the fourth floor and features a kitchen and guest w/c, which could act as the perfect preparation space for private parties.

Residents benefit from a dedicated concierge, lift, and an exceptional reception lobby. Owners can also enjoy access to Park Crescent’s eight-acre private gardens, which include sweeping lawns, gravel pathways and a summer tennis court, whilst there is also a reminder of the once Royal Crescent, with a statue of HRH Prince Edward, Queen Victoria’s father, that was originally erected in 1824.

Park Crescent has become renowned for the notable figures who have inhabited this outstanding residence throughout history. Originally named Royal Crescent, the building has been occupied at one time or another by high profile individuals such as Charles Francis Adams (Abraham Lincoln’s American Ambassador to London and son of US President John Quincy Adams), Count Joseph Napoleon Bonaparte (brother of French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte), Sir Carl Meyer (mining magnate) and Lord Joseph Lister (pioneer of antiseptic surgery).

Tragically, the Blitz bombings of London during the Second World War left Royal Crescent badly damaged, leaving the building completely uninhabitable for over a decade and ending its use as a grand residence. In the 1960s, the building was converted into private offices and renamed Park Crescent. Following half a decade of commercial use the building was restored to its original glory, with the original charm and character introduced by Nash returning.

Park Crescent looked unrecognisable after it was rebuilt into a series of standardised office blocks, diminishing all its former glory and authentic charm. Yet miraculously, almost 200 years after the initial crescent was first completed, the building has finally been fully restored to align with Nash’s original vision.

Moreas Madani, founder of Tyburn, said: “This grand apartment on Park Crescent has been finished to an exceptional standard and thus holds a commanding value on the market. There is a unique feel to this residence that is typically only reserved for the finest palaces and mansions, the original character remains, with the finest modern enhancements, and you are immediately greeted with a feeling that this is a special place to call home. The opportunity to live here does not come around often, so we are expecting there to be a lot of interest from purchasers looking for a statement address in the heart of prime London.”
