This autumn, Regal London will officially open One St John’s Wood for the very first time – a prestigious and rare new build collection of striking homes overlooking the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground. To mark this exciting moment, Regal London will be unveiling the scheme’s very first penthouse, designed by renowned interior firm Angel O’Donnell. Additionally, Regal London will also be revealing an exclusive One St John’s Wood home accessory collection curated by Kalinko, the luxury and sustainable homeware brand.

This unique milestone for Regal London was borne out of the desire to create something truly special, that celebrated not only One St John’s Wood, but also showcased the exceptional art of fusing classic luxury design with contemporary artisanal craftmanship – to create a one-of-a-kind home in the heart of one of London’s most loved neighbourhoods.

Paul Eden, co-founder of Regal London, said: “We are thrilled to be opening our doors to One St John’s Wood for the very first time, alongside unveiling our highly anticipated penthouse designed by none other than Angel O’Donnell, which has perfectly captured the essence of this prestigious neighbourhood through its innovative design techniques.

“This also marks the launch of the One St John’s Wood homeware accessory collection, curated by sustainable homeware brand Kalinko, which celebrates the skill of true artisanal craftmanship – a theme which can be seen throughout the scheme. Complemented by exceptional architecture and residents’ facilities designed by renowned architect Squire and Partners, and views over the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, One St John’s Wood truly embodies the absolute best of luxury London living.”

One St. John’s Wood is elegantly poised – and enviably located – as such it deserves an interior of quietly confident luxury, enchanting comfort and flawless taste. And that is what Angel O’Donnell has created. It is a scheme that soothes the senses – balancing plushly padded furniture with sharply delineated forms. The varied sculptural elements in each room subtly nod to the riot of architectural genres found in the neighbouring Lord’s Cricket Ground, the hallowed home of cricket.

Throughout the penthouse there is always something to catch one’s eye – from the iconic Marenco sofa and delicately pivoting floor lamp in the living room to the handmade counterball pendant light and bar stools with elegant, tapering legs in the kitchen. Dusty pale green walls provide the backdrop for a series of richly pigmented colours: deep burgundy, juniper green, golden honey, and scorched clay; hues that can be found in large acrylic artwork, burlwood bedside tables and velvet headboards.

Add to this a painstaking attention to detail where a bespoke, ash-wood table base has been scorched to enhance its wavy, longitudinal grain – or a utilitarian Spade Chair, which has been combined with lively fabrics of geometric patterns. These precise finishes and detailed pairings abound throughout the penthouse – and the effect is mesmerising.

Richard Angel, co-founder of Angel O’Donnell, added: “One St. John’s Wood is a seriously unique development with uninterrupted views across the world-famous Lord’s Cricket Ground. History, iconic architecture, and nerve-shredding cricket action is literally on your doorstep – and all set within the leafy loveliness of St John’s Wood.

“Conscious of how landmark these residences are, we left no stone unturned, lavishing this remarkable penthouse apartment with sculptural lighting, handcrafted furniture, opulent textures and eye-catching art. The result is a luxurious home that more than lives up to its gorgeous surroundings.”

True artisanal craftmanship

The Kalinko collection, which has been handmade in Burma and designed for future residents and homeware design enthusiast’s alike, will enable individuals to emulate contemporary, sustainable and stylish designs within their own homes.

Inspired by the scheme’s unique architecture by Squire and Partners, interior design and proximity to Regent’s Park, Kalinko worked with Regal London to curate a collection that was truly reflective of everything that One St John’s Wood embodies, whilst celebrating true artisanal craftmanship.

Key pieces include a striking cane and wooden handcrafted chair, which has been made from reclaimed teak salvaged from Yangon, through to marble kitchenware which has been hand-carved by a local family in a town called Sagyin, Burmese for ‘marble’ just north of Mandalay. No two pieces are alike, and each item has its own bespoke markings, showcasing the skilled manual work of a chisel.
