With eight separate locations currently found in the South East and West of England, the relatively new, stylish Coppa Club brand has a luxury private members’ club feel, reminiscent of the various Soho House locations, yet with no high membership fees.

Each venue reflects its individual location and celebrates Britishness, as well as offering an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Locations include Tower Bridge, Clifton in Bristol, Cobham, Henley, Maidenhead, Berkshire, Brighton, Hazlemere and Sonning, as well as The Swan at Streatley, which I had the absolute pleasure of recently visiting.

Coppa offers a home-away-from-home experience for everyone

The Swan has long been a popular country pub with rooms and dining, set on a picturesque part of the River Thames, however the recent shift to a Coppa Club now presents it as a truly upscale offering. The venue offers both grand and cosy dining spaces, masses of alfresco dining, along with library corners and fireside sofas, offering a true sense of café culture. A backdrop of rolling Berkshire hills and a bridge over the water provide the hotel a much sought after tranquil setting.

The grounds include the property’s own private island and provide scenic walks for families as well as their four-legged companions. The property is also ideal for riverside weddings, seating up to 130 people. Guests can access the property via car, boat or helicopter and have access to a selection of events, onsite paddle boarding, exercise classes, and high-spec meeting and events spaces. The hotel has a small but perfectly functional gym, with sauna and steam room as well as an outdoor wellness cabin, where regular holistic yoga retreats take place.

Rooms and suites have open views of the countryside or River Thames

The 47-bedroom property has been newly refurbished and offers rooms opening onto the garden lawn and overlooking the river, making it a great option for a dog-friendly getaway.

Our suite had the most breath-taking balcony, with views overlooking the river. The colour scheme was a chic teal and canary yellow, with touches of muted grey. Our bathroom was designed exquisitely, resplendent with premium products and a bath deep enough to have a long soak. The bed was dreamily comfortable for a good night’s sleep.

The Swan’s relaxed dining areas welcome guests from morning to night

The Swan’s relaxed dining areas welcome guests from morning to night. The restaurant’s all-day à la carte menu features a contemporary take on European classics, including both local and seasonal ingredients. Guests can enjoy a selection of small and sharing plates, fresh pasta, sourdough pizza, salads and grills. We loved the selection of small plates – the antipasti plate with Tuscan fennel salami, DOP Prosciutto, buffalo bocconcini, caperberries and chilli jam was a showstopper.

Coppa Club is also renowned for its pudding menu which includes British classics such as sticky toffee pudding and chocolate cake. The expansive cocktail menu features a tiramisu martini and hibiscus margarita, both of which were divine (and tried several times over).

Coppa offers the very best elements of a café, bar, restaurant, and lounge – all combined into one setting that provides something for everyone. New openings are planned as well as exclusive partnerships and events taking place across all locations.

Each Coppa location is situated in the heart of a lively village (or city i.e. Tower Bridge), providing locals with the ideal destination to eat, drink and relax. Whether diners are looking for a stylish working environment, a great company social spot, cosy date night or a memorable weekend brunch with friends, Coppa offers a home-away-from-home experience for everyone.
