The celebrities who swear by CBD

From Kim Kardashian to Jennifer Aniston, it seems everyone wants a little bit of CBD in their lives.

CBD has become something of a buzz term over recent years, and this cannabinoid, derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant, has easily been one of the biggest wellness trends of the past decade. Because this particular cannabinoid lacks the psychoactive compound (THC) the plant contains, which creates a high when illegally smoked, it has itself been widely legalised across the globe due to its therapeutic properties and can now be found in everything from oils and tinctures to moisturisers, chocolates and sweets.

Having been touted as the go-to natural alternative to help ease symptoms of a number of health conditions ranging from stress and anxiety to chronic pain, it’s hardly surprising that it has now infiltrated just about every area of our lives. In fact, so widespread is the appeal of this natural remedy that it has acquired a host of celebrity fans who swear by it – and from Kim K to Jennifer Aniston, it seems everyone wants a little bit of CBD in their lives.

Kim Kardashian has been vocal about her love of CBD over recent years, and in 2019, she even threw a CBD-themed baby shower for herself and her friends, where they each enjoyed a host of pampering CBD-infused refreshments and spa treatments designed to soothe body, mind and soul.

On Instagram stories, she can regularly be seen posting about the CBD oils and salves she loves, and while some may be paid adverts, others are simply because she likes to use them herself. She’s also known to be a fan of Peluquera Korean-style spa in Beverly Hills that offers treatments based around the therapeutic healing benefits of CBD oil.

Whoopi Goldberg

Actress and The View host Whoopi Goldberg has been a long-term user of CBD, and such is her love for it that she has even co-founded her own brand to help others to enjoy the benefits, too. Whoopi and Maya specialises in legal medical marijuana products, with some of its most popular products focusing on period pain relief. The CBD brownie is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a favourite, as it offers just the kind of carbs and sugar fix many women crave at that time of the month, but with an added bonus.

Although these particular products are aimed at women of a menstruating age, they are also a great example of one of the many ways in which CBD has been made more palatable for those who don’t like the taste. CBD sweets, like the Delta 8 gummies from PureKana, are another more enjoyable way to get your fix, and you can even enjoy a square or two of CBD-infused chocolate on a daily basis to get the benefits.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio is another big fan of CBD and swears by her preferred tincture to soothe her tired, aching muscles after regular tough sessions at the gym. She has also previously admitted to suffering from anxiety, so it’s likely that she also turns to her regular CBD oil consumption to help ease the symptoms, although she hasn’t spoken about this in any detail.

CBD oil is praised by many for its ability to reduce feelings of stress and to calm the mind, as well as helping to alleviate the symptoms of depression – although further scientific research is still required to confirm its efficacy. Nevertheless, many certainly seem to find it helps them, and for those who prefer to avoid taking prescribed western medicines, where possible, it could be a viable alternative.

Jennifer Aniston

Although Jennifer Aniston has never commented on her preferred method of using CBD, or her routine of doing so, she has previously said she believes CBD to be helpful with pain, stress and anxiety – so it’s possible that she uses it to help herself.

While a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue is one of the most common ways to take a dose when it comes to leveraging mind-based benefits, many prefer to opt for a topical treatment such as a CBD-infused moisturising cream or lotion, to help with general aches and pains, as these can be applied to specific target areas and are a better choice for soothing aching muscles after a gym session or easing chronic neck or back pain to make it more manageable.
