We caught up with Nick Ede, a multi-award-winning TV presenter, popular culture commentator, public relations guru and philanthropist.

Nick is the founder of the award-winning East Of Eden PR, Style For Stroke Foundation, The Fashion Run and imPODster Syndrome Podcast. In 2021, Nick co-founded We Are Fabulous TV, a production company with Jaine Brent. With over 15 years of TV experience and several exciting roles under his belt, his latest venture sees him as the host and expert of High Street Hits with Andrea Mclean and Hello! Magazine which is now filming its second season with over one million viewers per show. He is also a regular panellist on Good Morning Britain on ITV, the UKs most watched breakfast show.

My car of choice

I have always been someone who loves an interior of a car and all its features. I don’t drive, so being a passenger you have different needs and I simply adore the Mini Cooper. Its perfect for country drives and going to the beach with the dog. The convertible is so much fun in the summer and winter with its powerful heating.

The new model has a brilliant LED infotainment system that really sounds like you’re in a cinema and its quick and nimble engine is sturdy for long drives but quick and economic for popping to see friends and family. The new mini cooper has really luxurious interior upholstery and I am just waiting for the new electric convertible to be released so I can get it for summer 2023.

My favourite holiday destination

With my busy social/work life we love nothing more than to retreat to the stunning CAYO Exclusive Resort and Spa in Crete  as it’s the perfect option for privacy-seekers. Every room has 180-degree views of the iridescent Spinalonga Island, complete with a private plunge pool and a sun-soaked terrace. It’s just dreamy and only a four-hour flight from London with 300 perfect days of sunshine, it’s a slice of heaven.

My gadget I can’t live without

I am in love with the Sky Glass TV, it’s an intuitive, minimalist 4K TV that functions without an aerial dish, it’s an all-in-one entertainment system, it’s all very easy to use, and seamless in its performance. You don’t have a bulky set top box or aerial as your streaming service is inside. I want one in every room, it’s a really great innovation and the perfect gadget for the home.

My go to fashion brand

I am a huge fan of Gucci and I love everything from their fashion, accessories to their homewares, too. I really enjoy mixing and matching and every season there is a new take on a traditional style. This iconic logo is still something that brings me pleasure and I’ll have it on my jumpers and trainers and sometimes even my socks! The use of fabric and sleek but wearable designs makes it a brand that doesn’t age. I am a sucker for their luggage and feel proud when I’m flying with my Gucci backpack and carry-on.

My airline of choice

I love Virgin Atlantic, I fly to Los Angeles and New York a lot and I just find the whole experience so pleasurable. The clubhouse is a perfect place to start your journey and then that extends into the cabin. I have been lucky enough to have experienced one of the Retreat Suites which boasts an ottoman that doubles up as an extra seat so up to four people can enjoy an intimate dinner together in their own private social space.

It’s so much fun and also the screen is huge for a flight, so you really feel like you’re in a luxury hotel and not in the air. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the choice of food, wine and entertainment makes it my ultimate airline.

My favourite watch brand

I love my Bremont watch, it is so understated with effortless style. It’s British made and I love that fact and with its intricate design and stylish looks, it’s great for daily and occasion wear, too. Mine is the Audley, which reminds me of my father’s watch when he was in the army, but has all of the up to date mechanism you would expect from a master watchmaker.

My favourite restaurant

Le Comptoir Joel Robuchon in London is my favourite restaurant as it has, quite simply, the most sublime menu. I love good fish and adore lobster and they serve a simple but delicious dish, which is roasted lobster with spicy emulsion and French fries. It’s the best and I’ve been to a lot of restaurants!

I love the décor, the wine selection is so good and the sommelier is always on had to help you with your choices. They also have a really fabulous breakfast bar that is perfect for early morning meetings or a cheeky glass of bubbles before a shopping spree.

My guilty pleasure

I love staycations and one of my favourite things to do is book a suite at the Kimpton Hotel in Russell Square in London. The rooms are spacious and so well appointed. The staff all know my name and I can bring my dog Beverly there, which is even better. She is looked after by everyone there and I just love it. Being in Bloomsbury allows me to go to the British Museum and then see a show and pop back in time for cocktail at Fitz’s bar with its giant mirror ball. The next day I order room service all day from the Galvin Grill and watch TV or have a decadent bath, it’s the perfect home from home.

My favourite way to give back

I always like to give back and there are many ways that I do, but one of my favourite ways is to join forces with my dear friend and philanthropist Maria Bravo and the actress Eva Longoria Baston and host a Global Gift Gala with them. We have worked together for over ten years and have supported charities including Great Ormond Street, Diana Award and Rays Of Sunshine, to name but a few. Watching their passion inspired me to work with the singing star Alexandra Burke to host the Spring Ball in aid of Stroke Awareness which is another great way to give back.
