We caught up with Rebecca Masri, the founder of Little Emperors, a private members’ luxury hotel app, which she started following her career at Goldman Sachs.

Rebecca is a key travel industry speaker, 2021 International Women’s winner at The National Business Women’s awards, and member of many advisory boards for luxury hotel brands, including Four Seasons, IHG, Hilton, Accor and Hyatt Group.

My car of choice

Electric mini convertible. I live in central London, so this small and practical car is great for parking, and city traffic. It’s environmentally friendly and lower maintenance than most cars, and takes me anywhere I would need to go.

My favourite holiday destination

The Maldives every time. I work so hard and travel so much, so the Maldives really is the ultimate place to relax and completely disconnect from the rest of the world. The pristine beaches, coral reefs, palm trees, blue lagoons, fresh air, and turquoise ocean makes it my favourite destination.

My gadget I can’t live without

A bedside clock. Someone taught me to use a clock instead of waking up and immediately checking my phone. It’s changed my morning routine. I no longer panic first thing by the enormous number of notifications on my home screen, but instead take the first 15 minutes of my day for myself.

My go to fashion brand

Ba&sh – it’s French founded, with flouncy blouses, long wafty skirts, very colourful, ready to wear and fun!

My airline of choice

I am actually still looking for one. It used to be British Airways, but like most people I have had some pretty terrible experiences in recent times. Definitely open to suggestions if anyone has any!

My favourite watch brand

I don’t have one! As much as I sing the praises of bedside clocks, I don’t wear a watch as I view my phone as my watch. Maybe the move to a bedside clock is the first step.

My favourite restaurant

In London, it would have to be the restaurant at the newly opened hotel in Mayfair, The Twenty Two. The food is fresh, delicious and for the most part healthy, and you’re surrounded by exquisite decoration with perfect service – no wonder given the staff have all come from London’s best.

My guilty pleasure

As a founder and CEO, my days are typically filled with lots of small tasks, emails, meetings etc. I miss focusing my mind on a single, intellectually challenging task. So I like to relax by doing a pencil and paper puzzle away from my computer. Backgammon, bridge, sudoku, crossword, anything.

My favourite way to give back

Definitely using the amazing hotel partnerships and relationships we have at Little Emperors to donate vouchers towards stays and auctioning them off in aid of a good cause. Most recently, we dedicated a raffle to MIND, a mental health charity.
