Cape Town’s luxury resort South Beach adds 10 new suites

South Beach, part of The Blue Views Collection, is adding 10 more extra-spacious suites to the existing property, which currently comprises of nine luxury suites. Located on the jet-set-style shores of Camps Bay, Cape Town’s fashionable beach destination, South Beach is a stylish yet relaxed alternative to a traditional hotel stay, offering boutique, high-end hotel apartments mixed with beach-side glamour, and all the creature comforts you would expect in a world-class designer hotel.

Since the launch of phase 1 in October 2014, South Beach has established itself as one of the most popular places to stay in Cape Town. Based on guest reviews and opinions collected last year, it was one of the winners of the coveted 2016 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice awards.

Located just 50 metres from the pristine white beaches of Camps Bay, South Beach – as its name suggests – would look equally at home alongside the Art Deco properties of Miami’s Ocean Drive as it does peeking out over this stunning coastal suburb of Cape Town. Set back one block from the vibrant promenade, South Beach is a hidden gem offering both privacy and tranquillity, whilst many top restaurants and trendy pubs are literally at the doorstep.

Designed by Greg Wright Architects, all the new suites – like the existing South Beach ones – are sea-facing, with breathtaking views out across the turquoise ocean. There are also two stunning one-bedroom apartments – one with a private pool.

Much more than simply a bedroom, the apartment sized rooms are light, airy and elegant with kitchenettes, balconies and bespoke designer furnishings. The interiors ooze refinement with clean lines and a cool palette, allowing guests to ease into a holiday mode the second they arrive.

The key to a really great property is often found in the details, and South Beach won’t disappoint here; with daily housekeeping, two communal swimming pools, a pool bar, a ground floor gym and secure parking. An onsite team will not only recommend restaurants and day- trips, but book them too. The fridge gets restocked daily with complimentary breakfast items and little extras like a Nespresso machine to provide you with that extra boost each morning. Lovely touches are the yoga mat supplied in the cupboard providing a great alternative to the gym, as well as the bicycles which one can use to ride along the beach front. Or, if it’s a staying indoors sort of day, a DVD collection, games consoles and plasma screens in the suite will keep you occupied.

There is plenty to see and do around Cape Town too. Key attractions such as the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain and the thriving Cape Town Central Business District are less than twenty minutes away. South Beach is also an ideal starting place for a Cape tour. Locations such as Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens and Hout Bay are within easy reach, or take a scenic drive along the Atlantic seaboard to the spectacular Cape of Good Hope, 70km south of Cape Town.
