Small is beautiful in Los Angeles: 850 opens in the heart of West Hollywood

Legendary hotelier Jeff Klein has opened a new, luxurious hotel, 850, situated in the heart of West Hollywood. This is a residential-style hotel offering a homely atmosphere with the artistic touch of British designer Rita Konig.

It will be the sister hotel to Sunset Tower, one of West Hollywood’s most iconic hotels which has recently undergone a multi-million pound renovation, staying true to an Art Deco theme. Klein has given Sunset Tower a new lease of life, making it chic, timeless and elegant with an outdoor terrace, wellness area and swimming pool being just a few of the key alterations. Similarly, The Terrace has been renovated to include a dark and glamour new bar and two indoor and outdoor restaurants, the latter being connected to the outdoor swimming pool area.

So why is this important, you ask?

Well, this means we can expect a bright future for 850. Styled like an historical bungalow and in a residential neighbourhood to create a communal atmosphere. The most notable and memorable part of this new hotel is the chic design. Inspired by Sicily with its European interior design, Klein’s aim was to create an intimate space, which he successfully achieved. A unique feature of 850’s decor is the cosy fireplace alongside antique leather armchairs and stunning fabrics to make the perfect communal room.

850 is a new hotel concept inspired by European residential-style properties where the comforts and accoutrements of home blend seamlessly with the luxury and service of a contemporary hotel

As for the rooms themselves, Konig designed 23 beautiful lodgings, bringing her bold and collective style all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, right to West Hollywood’s doorstep. Pastel colours and textures create an elegant patchwork to create a homely, timeless feeling to the hotel scene in LA.

As 850 is a small and intimate hotel, this creates an inimitable experience among guests, allowing them to connect at ease as the hotel spaces are strictly guest-only. There’s a communal, residential-style kitchen complete with a marble fridge where complimentary, and most importantly delicious, breakfast is served to every guest. At 850 you can expect only the best food as top chefs from LA cook dinner to showcase local delicacies and international cuisine, such as Mezze platters that are perfect for socialising and sharing among guests. The lobby-lounge also doubles as a rather impressive bar, offering up an extensive menu of wines, spirits and cocktails carefully curated by Klein and his staff, ensuring that their guests will only experience the best. To top it off, a beautiful rooftop terrace is open for guests to experience the mesmerizing view of the city accompanied by wine.
