NYC’s fashion hotspot hotel The Lowell launches ‘Coco’s Haute Couture Afternoon Tea’ for Fashion Week
Nestled amongst the Upper East Side brownstones surrounding Barneys, Bergdorf’s and Bloomingdale’s, The Lowell is one of the city’s most exclusive luxury hotels and the hottest place to be seen in the city.
Due to its prime position in one of New York’s most sought after districts, the privately owned Lowell hotel often plays host to a range of fashionistas and celebrities and New York Fashion Week is no exception.
Guests of The Lowell have been known to spot the likes of Cindy Crawford and Erdem sipping cocktails in the hotel’s chic bar, Jacques, and Kelly Rutherford and Selma Blair enjoying lunch in stylish restaurant, Majorelle, both of which are inspired by the iconic Yves Saint Laurent gardens in Marrakech.
To celebrate Fashion Week 2019, The Lowell is launching an exclusive new fashion-inspired afternoon tea, available to guests and visitors alike, from 4th – 15th September in the hotel’s glamorous, newly refurbished Pembroke Room.
Coco’s Haute Couture Afternoon Tea pays tribute to one of fashion’s most memorable and iconic personalities, Coco Chanel.
Guests will enjoy a glass of either Nicolas Feuillatte Rosé Brut Champagne or Le Vie En Rose Cream of Rose Champagne Cocktail as well as Camellia-infused tea, a nod to the designer’s favourite flower.
This will be paired with delicious cookies, shaped as whimsical fashion garments, including the iconic Boucle Jacket Cookie, CC Logo Cookie and 2:55 Matelassé Purse Cookie.
Homemade scones with cream, lemon curd, orange marmalade and wild rose preserve are also included, alongside three tiers of sweet and savoury treats.
These include a Pistachio Eclair, Seasonal Macaroon, Lemon Tart and Crunchy Chocolate Mousse and a selection of seasonal sandwiches such as Smoked Salmon and Caviar on Pumpernickel Bread, Old Bay Lobster Salad on Brioche and Cucumber, Lemon-Chive Butter on Multigrain.
As a parting gift, guests will go home with the Pocket Coco Chanel Wisdom book, which includes many of her famous quotes such as “You live but once; you might as well be amusing.”
