Whether you’re looking to kick off the weekend in style, celebrate with friends or searching for a Sunday detox, Knightsbridge has the brunch or breakfast spot for you.

The shopping option

Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge, Fifth Floor Café and Terrace

Harvey Nichols

Weekends are made for indulging. So, whether it’s before, after or even during a shopping trip, make the weekend extra-special with brunch at the Fifth Floor Café and Terrace at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge.

There are dishes to tempt both sweet and savoury palates, from smoked trout with new potatoes, deep fried soft poached egg and shito pepper sauce to an aubergine schnitzel with pickled radish salad and garlic yoghurt sauce and a double Wagyu cheeseburger with skinny fries. For something a bit more traditional, choose from the breakfast menu which has classics like eggs royale with smoked salmon, caviar, poached eggs, brioche and hollandaise sauce or smoked salmon with scrambled or poached eggs. With dishes that look like works of art and flavours that make taste buds pop, the menu makes for the ultimate weekend brunch experience.

The fashionable option

Prada Caffè, Harrods

Prada Caffe - brand supplied imagery

For a taste of Italian style in the heart of London head for Harrod’s pop-up Prada Caffè – open until the end of the year. Inspired by the fashion brand’s most famous stores – including its first-ever boutique, opened at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in 1913 – Prada Caffè’s black-and-white chequered flooring, echoes the Prada’s iconic monochrome designs and paves the way to elegant velvet sofas in the season’s pale green, from which diners can admire the floral bas-reliefs that decorate the walls.

Outside, a fabulous summer terrace awaits, where guests can peruse the menu while they bask in the sunshine. Italian coffee accompanies salmon and scrambled eggs, sourdough avocado toast with hummus and fresh herbs or eggs Florentine. There’s also a fabulous selection of pastries, cakes and tartlets.

Unique Japanese option

The Aubrey

the Aubrey

International Japanese restaurant The Aubrey has created a unique brunch menu. Available every Saturday and Sunday from midday, Japanese favourites are served alongside twists on classic brunch dishes. Okonomiyaki, a savoury version of a Japanese pancake, is topped with shimeji, spring onion and tonkatsu and is sure to delight. For those with a sweeter tooth, opt for the cloud-like fluffy pancakes, which are piled high with lashings of whipped cream, seasonal berries and syrup. The Aubrey’s unique warm mochi (buchi) served with toasted sesame and yuzu curd is another favourite dish with customers. Subtly sweet and soft, the shokupan – a Japanese milk bread – is a key ingredient for The Aubrey’s famed sandos, while those with a more savoury palette will love brunch dishes such as Tokyo eggs royale with yuzu hollandaise and tea-smoked salmon.

There’s also the option to add two hours of free-flowing bottomless beverages, choosing from The Aubrey’s very own Champagne, Akashi Kuro Sake, or a selection of delicious cocktails. Brunch is a dog-friendly service, and there’s even a menu for pets too.
