3 tasty gin cocktails to try for the perfect summer sip

The botanicals in Bathtub Gin provide a lovely spicy note to your cocktail, which perfectly complements the flavours and aromas associated with barbecues.

While hot, sunny days make way for long light-filled evenings, reaching for just the right refreshing tipple to quench your thirst can be bliss. When 5 o’clock comes, you may just want to whip up an easy, cooling, fruity cocktail to satiate your thirst and if you’re looking for some ‘gin-spiration’, look no further.

Use the award-winning Bathtub Gin, a craft gin that’s double infused for extra flavour. Hand crafted from start to finish; first an already delicious London Dry Gin is distilled in a copper-pot still, then they take an extra step. They infuse with orange peel and five other carefully selected botanicals over a further seven days, tasting regularly by hand to ensure that distinct Bathtub flavour.

On the nose, fresh and bold juniper leads the way with fragrant citrus and cardamom. Notes of fresh orange peel and cinnamon add to an enticing nose. Juniper again leads when it comes to tasting this tipple, but there’s plenty more besides. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy whilst the cloves, coriander and cardamom offer depth. On the finish is where the supporting botanicals really shine with lingering cardamom and orange peel on the tail.

A perfect gin to enjoy in the summer sun. The botanicals provide a lovely spicy note to your gin and tonic or cocktail, which perfectly complements the flavours and aromas associated with barbecues. Here are three cocktails to enjoy with this tantalising tipple.

Bathtub Buck

Bath Gin cocktail

50ml Bathtub Gin
20ml lemon juice
Top with ginger ale

Build in a tall Collins glass over ice adding Bathtub Gin first followed by the lemon juice and top up with ginger ale. Give it all a quick stir and garnish with a lemon wedge and fresh rosemary sprigs.

Bathtub Bramble

Bath Gin cocktail

50ml Bathtub Gin
20ml lemon juice
15ml agave
4 fresh blackberries

Build in a rock glass. Add all fresh blackberries and muddle in the glass. Then add Bathtub Gin followed by the lemon juice and agave. Add the ice, give it all stir to mix together evenly. Garnish with a lemon wheel and fresh blackberries.

Tubside

Bath Gin cocktail

50ml Bathtub Gin
25ml lime juice
15ml agave
5 mint leaves

In a cocktail shaker, add all of the ingredients, including the mint, and fill with ice. Shake hard until the tins feel ice cold and strain the drink into a rocks glass over ice. This can be made into a ‘royal’ pouring into a champagne glass and by adding chilled sparkling wine.
