Review: We test The Pure Package personalised weight loss programme

By Ina Yulo Stuve   |

“My philosophy is that you can reach your health goals whilst enjoying delicious nutritionally-balanced convenient food,” says Jennifer Irvine, wellness expert and founder of award-winning gourmet dietary food delivery service The Pure Package.

The Pure Package is able to cater to different dietary requirements and intolerances and is focused on achieving a client’s specific goals such as weight loss, healthy eating, training support, longevity, pre and post-natal, paleo-inspired, vegetarian, vegan, and a personal touch package.

Dishes place a high importance on sustainability with grass-fed, free-range meat, fish from sustainable sources, and organic produce where possible.

I decided to do a three-day trial of The Pure Package’s weight loss package to see why an all-star line-up that includes super model Erin O’Connor, singer Florence Welch, and Olympic ski champion Chemmy Alcott favour the programme.

My 3-day programme consisted of five dishes: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks. My menus were as follows:

Monday

Strawberry banana oat pot
Apple & cashew nuts
Tuna Nicoise salad
Raspberry chocolate mousse
Moroccan chicken tagine

Tuesday

Fresh fruit with organic rye bread and hazelnut butter
Pear & pumpkin seeds
Roasted vegetable & buffalo mozzarella salad
Red pepper & almond dip with sugar snaps
Plaice served with braised celery, Kalamata olives, and pepper sauce

Wednesday

Museli with melon & mixed berries
Kiwi & pistachio nuts
Coconut chicken with Asian coleslaw
Persian dip with crudités
Roasted cod with rocket pesto

Salmon omega salad is one of the delicious and healthy meals available from The Pure Package

Whilst some of the salads seemed more plain to me, I very much enjoyed the flavourful Moroccan chicken tagine, muesli with melon and mixed berries, and plaice with a pepper sauce. The Pure Package clearly shows that eating a healthy, low-calorie diet can be achieved through a strong balance of lean meats and complementary spices.

Every day I was given a menu of what my cooler contained and with the nutritional benefits of each ingredient clearly laid out. From the low glycaemic, mineral-rich rye bread to the vitamin D that broccoli is known for, it was very encouraging to see the thought that was put into each of my dishes.

Despite being on the weight loss package, I never felt hungry throughout the day and one of the biggest lessons The Pure Package taught me was how to eat balanced meals throughout the day to curb cravings.

The Pure Package is a programme that provides a convenient way to stick to a balanced diet and reach your nutritional goals. It is useful to know that the temperature-controlled bags are delivered from 10pm-5am and customers need to indicate a safe place where these can be left.
